I have a cat that is pregnant and has been in labor for two days. She had one kitten last night that was stillborn and another one today that was stillborn. It took her most of the day to give birth today so I knew there was something wrong. She has had several litters without any problems. She has been bleeding all day and will not eat or drink. She has another kitten to deliver and I can tell she isnt going to be able to deliver it herself. Ive had her for over 8 years and did not want to lose her and my regular vet recommended mountain view. I called ahead as they request and told the receptionist about the issue. She explained how their office works and I would have to pay any and all fees upfront. The exam fee, no problem. $90 is more than twice what I normally pay for a visit but I was willing to do what I had to. I asked a few more questions because of the negative reviews and the comments about how outrageous the fees are. Im glad I did. I was told a c-section would cost $2,000 and if she had to stay a couple days it would cost significantly more. I dont know too many one income families that can fork over that amount of money at one time. A payment plan was not offered and it was stressed a few times during the conversation that payment was due before any procedure was performed. Im now sitting with my cat hoping she makes it through the night so I can take her to my regular vet in the morning and not have to worry about being refused treatment because I dont want to drain my savings in case something else comes up. I absolutely agree with the people whose comments claimed this business is more worried about getting paid than helping your pet get well. Im sure once you pay them, they are very caring for your pet. I will be sure to let my regular vet know how my experience was with mountain view

I am so shocked to see negative reviews for this facility since I have only had Top Notch service from them. They were responsive and caring over the phone & were completely professional when we arrived. The techs and the Vet all were AMAZING!! My pup was treated as a priority & our concerns were listened to and addressed. They had oxygen and equipment ready & waiting for us when we arrived since I had called and told them we were coming in with a choking dog. She was seen, treated and we were given thorough aftercare instructions and told exactly what we needed to watch for. The Vet even contacted & updated our regular Vet. After all of this VIP care, I was expecting a bill for several hundred dollars since we rushed our dog in & she was seen and treated immediately. We were only charged $90 and told that if we had any further issues to bring her in immediately & it would still count as the same visit. He was an amazing caring Vet and I feel lucky that we have such a top notch emergency animal hospital in our area. It is truly a shame that people generally only feel the need to post a comment when they have a problem, never to praise and commend someone for outstanding service. I sympathize with the stress people are under with a sick animal but criticizing and taking it out on the caregivers is unfair. There are many happy clients of this vet, I personally know several and there were many pictures, cards and thank you notes on the board from satisfied, grateful pet owners. I wish that more of them would post on this site, this Animal Hospital was AMAZING!! A million thanks, again to them from Holley and the entire Gilbert Family.

I was traveling through the Hagerstown area on my way home to NY when I noticed that my cat Conan was straining while trying to urinate and not producing any urine. He had recently been dxed with a UTI so I was concerned he had become blocked. At 1 AM I frantically searched online for a vet that was open nearby. I found Mountain View and was pleased to see they offered overnight emergency services. I brought Conan in and they immediately took him back to exam him. Dr. Wilson confirmed that Conan was blocked and thoroughly explained several different treatment options tailored to my unique circumstances. After deciding on a treatment plan, I was given a detailed cost estimate and told they would call me when Conan was ready to go. Within a short time I received a call from Dr. Wilson letting me know that everything went great and that Conan was on the mend. Back at the office, Dr. Wilson took the time to thoroughly explain his findings and also detailed a well-crafted plan for Conans after-care. I feel so fortunate that Conan was able to receive treatment from such skilled, caring, and dedicated professionals in his time of need. Thanks to the folks at Mountain View I was able to get him safely back home and he is already showing much improvement. I cannot speak more highly of my experience.

So glad to have Mountain View in the area! We have had the need for their services multiple times during the life of our corgi. Such a relief to be spared the drive to the next nearest emergency hospital in Frederick as weve had to do in the past. We have always had great service from the kind, knowledgeable staff, beginning at our phone call in, all the way through our visit. There was a waiting period depending on how many patients theyre handling at the time, but its certainly reasonable as we did not have a life-threatening emergency. I imagine a wait at meritus er would be longer. The vet on duty has always shown us aptitude in determining the best course of action for our case. In my experience, they do not push unnecessary tests upon you, but rather, give their best professional opinion and give you options for diagnosing and treating the problem efficiently and effectively with minimum drain on your wallet. For all they offer in the way of care, convenience and peace of mind, they are surprisingly cost effective as well. Im willing to pay a little over normal rate in order to have the knowledge that no matter when, late night or weekends, theres care available if my pet is sick or injured. Thank you Mountain View! You are all truly appreciated.

This is one of the best places I have ever taken my animals to. The veterinary staff is knowledgeable, professional, and takes the time to explain things to you; even when there are many other crisis going on at the same time. Their minds are able to focus on what is directly in front of them knowing that other staff members are doing what is needed to help the other clients/animals. Their ability to focus and not be frazzled comes from the confidence they have in each other; a true team effort. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable, empathetic, skilled and leaves you feeling like you have done the best you could for your beloved pet. They are able to help you feel the best you can in situations that are less than pleasant. I will always be indebted to them not only for helping my animals, but for making me feel that I have done the best I could for my pets. This is clearly not just a job for anyone that I have seen that works there, but they are really there to help you and take pride knowing they can provide the best possible care for your pet and for you. From the vets. to the administrative support staff, and everyone in between. Thank you Mountain View!
