The PTSD Retreat

We received a stray cat from a friend, that was to become our barn cat, less than a week before we took the cat in for a visit. She was UTD shots and spayed but we saw she was sick. At first, we thought allergies because she exhibited the same symptoms I have when my allergies affect me. When we got to the vet, we discovered it was much worse. Expecting medicine for her and for her to get better, we instead were told she was dying, was severely anemic due to feline leukemia, and had, at best, a couple days to live. We chose to put her to sleep. This was my first visit to this vet and I would never have thought of them again, but, seeing how distressed we were, they sent us a card sharing how sorry they were for our loss, even though it was not a long term member of our family, and how grateful they were that the cat had a comfortable home and lots of love for the last part of its life. They did not have to do it, send that card. But, because they did, I am open to coming again if ever we must.

I adopted my Shar pei mix from a shelter. She was transported to LPAC and they did an amazing job taking care of her. My Rosie had gotten sick about 2 months ago, she was dehydrated, not eating and running a fever. They said on the phone, lets see what we can do. She had to talk to the Dr, so she called me back in 10 minutes asking if I could bring her on in 20 minutes. I was pleased with how they worked us in. Dr. Snow is so wonderful, I explained how important Rosie is to our family. She has become our love therapy dog after I lost my husband and my kids dad to cancer. So caring and understanding. Thank you Dr. Snow for being a wonderful person who not just cares for the animals, but also cares for us. Now s g e also takes care of our two kittens from the time we got them at 7 weeks to now. They are now 12 weeks old.

My LoLo was rescued from a Dogfighting ring in SC.. I am THE luckiest Mama on earth..Not ONLY because I get to be her Mama... But we were referred to Dr. Cunningham and his AMAZING staff.. I know shes not happy about the Drs office but the moment we walk in the door her tail starts a waggin !!! **** LOLO has a new lil sister !! her name is LOVEY and she also will be seeing Dr. Cunningham and his fantastic staff... I am so excited to bring her in and show her off...PLUS I know that Lovey will be taken care of as great as LOLO has been... Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such care of my girls :)

So, while searching for address and phone to give, I decided it was worth sharing with others. In addition to treating my family (and 15 year old dog) very well, I listen carefully to how they treat others... they are extraordinary and give a level of service and caring that is hard to find these days. I give them 5 stars!

Excellent doctors and staff on site! My dachshund had a ruptured disk and became paralyzed in his back legs. They not only got him in to see them on extremely short notice, but they quickly made all of the arrangements for his emergency surgery in Blacksburg, VA at the Virginia Tech Veterinary School. They had the staff ready and waiting for him when we arrived and I am now happy to say he is all well and walking again! Wont take my fur children to anyone else!!!

Great Veterinarian! Excellent staff! My 10 year old Golden Retriever was diagnosed with severe Pyometre and needed immediate surgery to save her life. The surgery was done that afternoon and after two days of recovery our whole family is happy to have her back. Great to see her wagging her tail again.
