As a speech-language pathologist and parent of a fourth grade child who began to experience the effects of a rigorous classroom curriculum, Educational Resource Group (ERG) provided the solutions that I was searching for and expecting. ERG has become a prime reason for my son’s educational success this school year. They provide individualized one on one instruction that is tailored to address each child’s areas of deficit which is first determined through the evaluation process. Service provision extends beyond what tutoring can provide. Rather, strong emphasis is placed upon enhancing the brain’s capacity to learn by strengthening retention of information, improving storage and retrieval of learned information, increasing reading rate while maintaining word accuracy, etc. ERG’s strategy for influencing change has been all inclusive. To name a few, ERG prides themselves upon detailed data collection which enabled them to effectively tailor instruction to best meet my son’s needs. Repetition of instructional targets multiple times per week facilitates long term change. It was ERG’s careful selection of a coach to match my son’s personality that made all the difference in boosting his self-confidence as a learner. Weekly and monthly progress reports kept me apprised of his successes and remaining areas of challenge. What also impressed me rather substantially was ERG’s receptivity to my input and guidance, at times and their natural ability to explain relevant information in simple terms to allow any parent to understand the rationale for their intervention techniques. Additionally, ERG has brilliantly created an environment where children feel safe and motivated to learn as their accomplishments are frequently celebrated and children are deliberately groomed to adopt an appreciation for learning and a positive mindset about learning, thereby naturally restoring their mental perseverance and self-esteem. ERG is the reason that my son actively chooses to persist in the midst of a challenge.

ERG was introduced to me by my mom as she wanted me to succeed in school. The team at ERG has helped me stay organized and up-to-date on all of my assignments. They have helped me develop skills that I can apply not only in the classroom, but in the real world as well. Getting your own personal coach to help you through homework, different assignments, planning skills, etc., is great since theyre the primary person you work with, resulting in a strong, growing relationship. ERG as a whole has helped me grow as a student and as a person, and I dont think I can say that about any other group like this one.

I have only positive things to say about the ERG staff and programs. Our partnership with Dr. Perez started in middle school and has continued (on and off) through high school. The ERG is the one and only place that has my son, and his ability to achieve his goals, as its sole focus. I highly recommend it to any parent that wants to address core capabilities and skills that lead to falling behind in the first place, instead of just hiring someone to get their child caught up again. You wont find a more pleasant, understanding, and competent set of people to work with...

I came across the ERG through a friend of mine, who also used them for ACT and SAT practice sessions. After hearing of their own improvement, I asked my parents if I could do sessions before my ACT. My practice ACT score in the beginning was a composite 17, after using the educational resources given to me, my score became a whopping 28 composite. The coach who was assigned to me showed me many things about test taking that became of use to me during the test. The ERG is the best of the best!! =D
