Had 3 visits here and will not be returning. My first doctor had no idea what listeria was and asked me to explain it to her. She had to read about it on google before she could give me her opinion. This is basic stuff if you are regularly dealing with pregnant women!! I went in for my 12 week sonogram and had a different doctor this time. He had trouble finding the heartbeat so we moved to the ultrasound. Couldnt find the baby and said that my uterus was way too low to be 12 weeks. He then proceeded to tell me that sometimes the baby just stops growing at 6-7 weeks. The only 2 options he gave me were that I was not as far along as I thought or I had a miscarriage. I rushed to GBMC to use their far superior equipment. They pulled up a picture of the baby no problem and said that I have a retroverted uterus which occurs in 1 out of 3 women. While they would have had trouble finding the baby on their equipment, it is beyond hasty to start telling your patients that they had a miscarriage or the due date is wrong! Please find a better doctor for your own good.

I have been with them since 2005 - Dr. Akman delivered my son BUT every single one of them are great!! I am currently 6 months pregnant with my second child and love going back to see all of them. They provide more of a family atmosphere that makes everyone feel special and comfortable
