From day one, she always made a big deal about my weight, as if I were wrong for being who am I. I am plus size; Ive never been her size, and honestly, I never wanted to... I didnt realize how bad it was until I became pregnant with my first son. I should have been excited every time I had an appointment, to see and hear the progress of my son but instead, I dreaded it! I was so afraid to go and be weighed, because I knew that if I gained weight, she would surely have something to say about it. I remember one appointment and she told me that she wouldnt mind if I lost weight... My final straw was when she told me that due to my weight, there was a chance that my son would be still born... Let me just mention that I was 220 at the beginning of my pregnancy and by the time I left her (at 32 weeks), I was about 250... Aside from my weight, I had no medical conditions that would suggest an unsafe or at risk pregnancy... No G.D., no precclampsia, not even high blood pressure! I was perfectly healthy and so was my son... I hated the fact that every time I asked her a question, she would refer me to the "green packet" as if my insurance were paying the green packet to guide me through my pregnancy. Once, I explained to her some of the symptoms that I was experiencing and her response: "Do you want to be pregnant or not?" Not in a joking manner, she was serious. Overall, I was so unhappy with her and the way she treated me. Anyone who can speak death into my sons life did not deserve to place one finger on him. Before leaving her, I did do my research and found that there really are doctors out there who discriminate overweight patients. She is definitely one of them... Dr. Chung, if you are reading this, I want you to know that I delivered a beautiful, healthy and strong baby boy. He weighed 8 lbs 13 ounces, with a heartbeat stronger than a drum. Maybe you truly had an issue with me, aside from my weight. I just hope that you treat your plus size patients better than you did me, because you made the first 32 weeks of my pregnancy HELL!

Ive been seeing Dr Chung for 6 years and have had thorough, compassionate care through two miscarriages and the birth of my daughter. Whether through impeccable memory (or clever use of customer relationship software) she and her office staff remember me, my family and much of history when I call or visit. Theyre very responsive and communicative for a busy sole practitioners office. Susanne and Kim are always wonderful to work with. In multiple insurance changes over the years, my first priority is to confirm that shes an in-network provider so I dont have to see anyone else!
