I would highly recommend Sager Animal Hospital! My 1 year old dog cut her shoulder pretty bad on a post in my backyard. My boyfriend wanted to take her to the 24 hour emergency vet in Westford, MA but I knew that they would charge us an arm and a leg for seeing her. We are both young, working full-time trying to get by... we dont have $700 to spend on an emergency vet visit for stitches with a Dr. that didnt care about us or our dog. I waited until the following morning and called Dr. Sagers office first thing...I had to leave a message stating what was going on & wait for a call back from his front desk staff. Although there was a bit of a delay in receiving a call back, it did come....and not to long after I left a message. Dr. Sager was able to see me that day at lunch time & gave Harley (my dog) stitches. I was very happy with the care we received as well as the price that was charged. Two days later I got a call from the office to check in and see how she was doing. Overall, you will not find a more honest and reasonably priced vet around. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SAGER ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!

We brought our chicken in here- she was looking bad and we didnt know what was wrong with her. Her crop had filled up the day before so we thought she might just have been impacted, but after we emptied out her crop at home she didnt improve. We brought her to Sager Animal Hospital near closing time, and we actually arrived 20 minutes after it closed, but we had called beforehand and the vet waited there for us. When we got there, he found a lot of fluid in her abdomen, and before long, a large tumor as well. She had apparently been suffering from the tumor for some time then, and died right there at the vets office. The vet was very sympathetic and didnt charge us anything for the visit. While he wasnt able to save her, at least we knew what went wrong. I would highly recommend Sager Animal Hospital- the vet that saw us was very kind and knowledgeable, and seemed truly sad when Owl died.

I think Dr Sager and his staff are amazing. I drive from Ashby to Acton because I love his gentle spirit and calm demeanor. He has been treating my yorkies for 9 years. When we had to put my 17 yr old boy to sleep, he gave me the time I needed privately in a room, and it was all done with dignity. When my little girl had a lyme issue the emergency vet I took her too (it was a Sunday) gave me an estimate for teeth removal that they thought had to be done, I asked Dr. Bill to look at the bill and it was hundreds of dollars less in his office. Not only are they easier on the pocket book, the individual care and courtesy is top notch. They always return phone calls and my questions are always answered to their fullest. Thank you Dr. Bill and Staff for the great care I get for my little darlings.

I have gone to Dr. Sager for at least 10 years for 3 hamsters and 2 guinea pigs. He has always been informative and respectful of our pets, my children, our budget, our schedule, our values. He allowed us to be present at the death of a very sick animal, and dealt sensitively with a childs grief. I have referred friends who are dog owners to him and they have been happy with his care. It is a small one vet. operation which could explain call back issues with a previous reviewer.

Took a rescued macaw into the office for a checkup. I had to leave the bird to run out to the car. When I returned to the waiting room, Dr. Sager was on his hands and knees talking to the bird, and making her feel comfortable. Treatment was conservative, reasonably priced, and honest. Dr. Sager communicated well with me, and explained a lot about how to care for macaws to keep them healthy. A great avian vet.

Dr. Sager & staff are excellent. Ive been taking my rats and gerbil here. He is very knowledgeable, patient, and truly loves his animal patients. Another vet told me to put my rat to sleep. Thank goodness I went to Dr. Sager for second opinion. He saves my rat from being put to sleep for no good reason. My rat is doing MUCH better and well now. Thank you Dr. Sager!!! We greatly appreciate all you do for our pets!

Dont ever go to Dr. Sager Animal hospital!! He absolutely sucks. He or his secretaries never call back. I think they have my parents on a block list because they never answer. I called and they answered 1st ring. Finally just called an emergency hospital in Nashua and they are calling Sagers office for more info. Maybe they will get the message that we are going to switch vets. You dont treat people like this!

Dr Bill Sager is the guru of small animals, gerbils, degus etc. He is the authority we rely on for opinions on animal health for organizations such as the American Gerbil Society and the Middlesex county fair 4H Pocket Pet Dept. He is the guy to see in this area if you have an animal, big or small, that needs care.
