Our 15 year old Rottie was experiencing tons of swelling so we took him in. I explained everything to the Dr. and threw out my guesses (hopes) that it was arthritis. Doc said that could be but without the $600 of tests we wouldnt know for sure. They prescribed arthritis meds without giving us any other suggestions of what it could be. When his breathing worsened drastically I called but could get no one to call back for 3 days. I took him off meds and kept him on painkillers. When talking to my mom (a mother baby nurse) she threw out that it could be congestive heart failure. Wish a Dr. had told me it was a possibility! When I finally got a hold of someone the Dr. told me that could be it and we needed to look into putting him down. We ended up taking him to a different vet for the final "procedure" because they cost less (for the same shot) and had a great past reputation from family. The vet reassured me that our boy was in deed dying from CHF and this was the best course of action (without $600 in tests). She was sweet and patient with us...it was nonetheless very painful but we are glad we spent our final moments with him at a different location. The only good I can say about Wignall is that the Dr. I talked to via phone call was very helpful but I was very disappointed that they didnt tell us all the possibilities of what it was while in the office. I felt like they took my arthritis suggestion and made $ off of it.

My dog was a patient at Wignall since he was a puppy. Never really needed any serious care until he developed a limp in his right side hind leg. My wife bought him in for an exam and they scheduled an x-ray. After paying for an x-ray with anesthesia he was diagnosed with left side hip dysplasia. I was confused because he was limping on his right leg. After a while the limp got worse so I bought him back complaining about his right leg and the doctor said "Yes, I can see the muscle degradation". After another exam I he was prescribed over $500 in pain and hip medications. The pain continued to get worse to the point where he could not even use the leg. I decided to bring him to another vet and just by walking him down the hall they said they didnt think it was his hip at all but his knee. An x-ray confirmed he had two torn ligaments in his right knee. I feel I, and even worse my dog was mistreated by Wignall. I was left feeling all they care about is money. I have not and will never return there again. I urge you not to go there if you care about your pet.

Its hard to grade Wignall because theres good and bad things about it. The vets are usually good with the dogs and theyre pretty straight forward, so I am happy with that but I do find that sometimes they push certain things at the pet parents to make money. The last few years it has been the medication. Big pharma is paying them (or maybe just the vets) big bucks to push products and brands that with a little research you find arent even good. The customer service has also started to lack. Hard to find appt times and just not well treated when trying to ask questions or figure things out. They have always been pricey but its definitely getting worse. As a consumer, having my dogs as patients, I would rather have honest care than someone with an agenda so I am currently on the fence with them. I wouldnt not recommend them, but I will say to beware if you do go there! For more specialized things and emergency please seek out Mass Vet in Woburn and for exotic pets definitely look for a vet that specializes on those.

I brought my dog into wignall in 2014 because he was having eye problems. Over the course of two years I brought my dog in multiple times and the vets prescribed my dog antibiotics and other types of medicines without doing any kind of exams whatsoever. Finally after 2 years of bringing my dog to wignall same exact eye problem over and over again I notice that he had somewhat of a film over his eye and that his eye looked enlarged. brought him back into wignall. The vet finally decides after over two years of seeing him that shes going to perform an eye pressure test. my dog has now been diagnosed with glaucoma. I believe that the glaucoma could have been caught sooner if the vet would have performed some kind of testing on my dog rather than just looking at him and misdiagnosing him. In total Ive been bringing my dog to wingall for four and a half years and i feel like all i have to show for it is thousands of dollars spent and a dog that has been suffering needlessly for too long.

Completely incompetent, unknowledgeable, and inexperienced exotic vet. She totally brushed aside my rats breathing issues, and he died because of them just a month after his check up. I am absolutely livid and I beg anybody who is thinking of taking their small animals here to go elsewhere (I personally highly recommend Northside Animal Hospital in Manchester, they have 2 very friendly, bright, experienced exotic vets who err on the side of caution). Doctor, if you read this, never forget that you are solely responsible for Harolds death, and maybe soon my other boy Chives because hes extremely depressed without his best friend. I wouldnt trust these people with my babys care more than I would Donald Trump. Worst exotic vet Ive ever been to. Certainly will never be back.

My pug has been in the care of Wignall since he was a puppy (nearly 9 years). The Drs. and staff have always been helpful, clear and treated my dog well. In addition to the regular check ups, hes had three surgeries (including 2 for mast cell tumors) and come through them with no problems. I completely trust them with my dogs health. The only downside is they are on the expensive side of things and at times feel like Im being over charged. But I always get a detailed invoice and have to be a bit insistent on refusing services I think are extra fluff. Their boarding services are out of my prices range and Ive found more affordable board elsewhere.
