Wow, how offensive that one of the previous reviewers said that this office was "in the ghetto" and the staff "barely speaks English". Get your racist a** off the internet. First of all, the office is situated in a diverse, colorful section of Providence that I enjoy visiting every so often, and every single staff member I have come across in ten years has spoken English fluently. I have been bringing both of my cats here since my oldest one was a kitten, over ten years ago. They have been nothing but warm and friendly to us, and most of the time when I call and ask them if they have my cats prescription food in stock, the receptionist knows exactly who Im calling for. The vet techs are friendly and kind to both of my cats (even the little crazy one!) and I have never had any complaint with anyone I have come across in that office. The hours are convenient for us too, and I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes or so when we drop in for our appointments. The only reason I have given them 4 stars is because parking can be pretty difficult, but on everything else, I give them 5. Well keep bringing our pets there. :)

Do not Listen to the Bad Reviews, This Guy Truly Cares about animals we found him by luck, yes it is not in the best area, and the staff is well spoken we have never had issues, but our dog has cost us about 15,000$ so far in medical expenses from Ocean State, yes parking is tight but there is generally always parking. If your a genuine person this is the best place to go, they do not try to over charge you. The people talking bad have never had to have a real animal emergency ! take one Trip to ocean state and these folks at Hoffmans are angels This Hospital has helped to ease costs anyway they can . This is by far the most inexpensive place to go in rhode island, and the care quality is the same as any other vet except the owners are REAL people not money hungry. we are more then thankful to have them as our primary vet, And we Drive 30+ mins to come to them !

Dr. Hoffman was great. I i came to see him when one of my two new puppies was ill. He could have easily had me do all kinds of tests but instead he sent me to the hospital and didnt even charge me for the office visit. My puppy ended up spending almost two weeks in the hospital. Dr. Hoffmans commitment was to my dogs survival first and not for making money. Thats honorable. When we came back for a fallow up visit the receptionist, who is just the sweetest, remembered all of us! When my daughter refused to help me get the dogs out of the office and into the car (They were not used to a leash yet) the receptionist left her desk and helped me out. When the dogs got medications it was organized in a very clear way so I knew exactly what to give to each dog. I am planning to keep this clinic as my dogs medical care from now on.

My wife and I have been using Hoffman exclusively for our greyhound and the greys we foster. Theyve always been wonderful to us and the dogs, taking excellent care of them, and the vet techs are always delighted to see our dogs, so much so that if we come in without them (to pick up medication refills), they give us treats to bring back for the dogs. They also have an excellent specialist knowledge of greyhounds and the particular issues of this breed (certain anesthetic drugs are very dangerous for greyhounds, for example), and Id recommend them as the best and most experienced greyhound vets in RI.

the receptionist Tia is absolutely the rudest person i have ever encountered in my life. They messed up on my dogs surgery and when i called to ask to an office manager she played dumb saying she did not know who that was, she only works at the front desk so she apparently never saw this "office manager" and if any of you have ever been there before we all no how small that place is and she was playing dumb so they wouldnt have to pay for the damage done to my dog. PLEASE NO ONE GO THERE! TRUST ME!

I have been using Hoffman Animal hospital for 14 years and I would not go anywhere else. I lived in Newport RI for 6 years and continued to drive to Providence for my pets healthcare. They are compassionate, accommodating, and it is all about the welfare of your pet. The staff couldnt be kinder or more pleasant and they try not to make you spend more than you have to. I highly recommend Hoffman Animal Hospital.

HORRIBLE! No parking. In the ghetto. Staff barely speaks english. They took one look at my dog on an emergency visit & said he had bruise on his chest. Turns out it was internal bleeding of his lungs! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS THERE! Cheap prices does not equal good service. Not even close! BTW that lady TIA was so rude on the phone & she ignored us for the first 5 minutes for a personal call!!!!!!!!! BEWARE!

This place by far give the wrong information and misdiagnose animals I brought my dog and not only did they charge extra but they SOLD me a ear cleanser for my dog that had an ear infection brought her to Coventry animal hospital and they helped me right away and my baby was good within 24 hours !!! I will never bring my dogs there again....

Ive been coming here for a couple of years now and these people are all about the animals. The service is always good, and the staff is always cheerful. The hours are great - evenings and weekends when I cant make it in during the day. The prices are reasonable and I love that I dont need an appointment to have my dog seen.
