I had just moved into the area with my family and 2 dogs. I went for a walk in my neighborhood and a loose dog came out from nowhere and began to fight with my dogs. My smaller dog, Kenny, I was sure had been hurt quite badly. I was frantic and did not know where to take him for help. I ran home with him and called my neighbor to ask where she takes her pets. She told me to go to Lakeside. I went immediately. When I got there Kenny was treated like he was the most important animal in the world. The staff was on top of it. The office was quite busy and I hadnt called ahead but I was put into a room right away and I was not only greeted by a waiting technician but within seconds the vet came into the room. Kenny was not hurt as badly I thought ( a couple of bite wounds) and all ended well. I cant say enough about how I was treated as a client either. I had a receptionist offer me coffee and comfort while Kenny was getting treated. She calmed me down and relayed how things were going in the treatment room with Kenny. Lakeside was the best. I have mentioned this story to some of my other neighbors and I have found that several of them take their pets to Lakeside as well. From my own experience I know why they would go there and I know why they continue to go

Dr. Brooks and Dr. Rezler are awesome veterinarians at Lakeside Animal Hospital. I took my dog, Dallas, and my 2 cats there for 11+ years and had nothing but quality service. Both Dr. Brooks and Dr. Rezler have always given my animals the best care and treatment and have always had great bedside manner. When I finally had to put Dallas down (due to hip dysplasia), Dr. Brooks sat down on the floor with me and talked with me for about half an hour while I cried and cried over losing Dallas. Dallas was 11 years old, and had nothing but great care and treatment from Lakeside. About a year after one of my cats passed away at 14 years old), I saw some kittens that Lakeside had for adoption. I fell in love with a black kitten they had there and shes now 10 years old. My other cat had to be put to sleep because he fell seriously ill and was having seizures; however he was 3 months shy of 19 years old. I credit the long lives that my animals have had to not only the care and love I gave them, but also to the care that they had from Lakeside Animal Hospital. I would definitely recommend them to any pet owner.

I have a mixed opinion here.....on a positive note, they gave me medicine which cured my cats ear problem for a while (it is a persistent problem) and the prices are fair. On the downside, I had a bad experience with Dr, Brooks over one of my budgies. He practically yelled at me for not cooking fresh food for the bird ( I feed my birds seed. One is 9 and one is 6 so clearly its not hurting them). I dont cook for people much less a bird! Then he called my bird a feather picker when he had only been picking at his feathers on the leg that was injured. The leg injury was the reason for my visit. He had gotten stuck while flying around and hurt his leg. Dr. Brooks was able to tell me that his leg was not broken. This man needs a personality transplant or something. Facilities leave a bit to be desired. They are old and dirty looking. Go to Commerce Village Veterinary Hospital on Commerce Road between Carroll Lake and Commerce instead. They are right across the street from Creamy Freeze.

So unprofessional. If you have an appointment at 8 dont bother to get there early, like with any other clinic. Why does your name have the word "hospital" in it? Definitely not acute care. You can be waiting on their door step to get in with an anxious dog and theyll turn their heads and make you wait out there. Reluctantly they let me in at 5 til. Thanks... Once you get inside dont expect anything to get better. Youll wait on the chair while front desk ignores you and your dog, get taken back to a room to have a vet tech give up after 2 attempts of checking your dogs ears and say "well we just wont check your ears then..." Didnt attempt to give him treats or try soothing him down. No reinforcements or therapeutic behavior. Maybe its just a bad Monday morning crew, but I wouldnt take any chances. Will not be going back. Your dog deserves better.

I have transferred my pet to another vet due to the aggression and lack of professionalism Dr. Brooks displayed when I went to pick up my moms dog. She said she left a credit card, but they didnt show it on record. Even though my family has been going to that vet since 1995, they wouldnt release my moms pet to me without payment and Dr. Brooks even took it as far as locking me in check up room and yelling at me to turn over the dog. Needless to say, he has rage issues.... I can only imagine how he treats an animal that angers him. I will NEVER go here again and wouldnt trust Dr. Brooks alone with a flea.

I personally do not have pets (other than fish) but often take my moms dogs here as she is handicap and I have had nothing but wonderful encounters each and every time I go there. The office staff is always friendly and both Dr. Brooks and Dr. Rezzler are kind, compassionate and always make us feel like they truly care. They have both taken time out of their busy schedules to speak to my mother over the phone when she has questions and have even called to check on her oldest dog to see how he was doing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone with animals!

This vet is so great. Very nice, welcoming and caring staff, clean facility and flexible with appointments. I highly recommend it. Our puppy loves going, and the veterinarian is prompt and on time. You dont have to worry about spending half the day, I took my pup for a shot and was in and out in 20 minutes, even when I saw several other dogs enter the facility around the same time. Best of all they are very caring and loving to my animal. It makes such a difference! Love this place!

What an amazing group of animal care givers! Last eve my lab cut her belly open in the woods. Her regular Vet was unavailable to see her. Lakeside Vet hospital saw her even though triple booked. They all stayed overtime to surgically repair her dangerous wound. They stayed to recover her and we took her home within the hour. Hats off to going above and beyond helping Prudence. Looks like we have a New Vet!

I have been taking my Vizsla to see Dr. Rezler since he was 7 weeks old (almost 6 years now) and I have been extremely happy with the service and care...she shows tremendous compassion and attentiveness to our dog. I tried a number of of other vets for Indy and our 2 cats, and once we found Dr. Rezler our search ended!
