Dr. Helgoth is the most compassionate, professional and dedicated vet I have EVER met (and I have been a dog owner for over 30yrs!) and that is why I followed him from River Valley Equine Clinic when he opened his new practice in the St. Joe (MI) area. He has taken care of my well and sick dogs over the years as well as performed multiple surgeries on my pets. I could never fathom going to another vet despite the longer drive time to his new location. Another area of excellence in Dr. Helgoths practice is his staff (esp Arie) because they are your first line of office contact. They also deserve a 5 star rating for excellence in every aspect too. I am so grateful to have a Vet (and office staff) that I trust and respect.

We have been trusting Dr. Helgoth and Arie-Anne for years. After they moved one of our babies got sick and we knew there was only one Vet we could trust his health with. They got us in quick and put our mind at ease. A few years ago we had an Aussie that became sick very suddenly. Dr. Helgoth called UofM help and MRI. Unfortunately our Bammer died on the way but the determination to get our dog well was over and beyond. When we told them the news they all signed a sympathy card. We were very moved. When our kitty had heart failure and had to be put down, he let us say our goodbyes and helped us through a very tough time. You will never find a better and more compassionate person. We are honored to call him our Vet.

I wasnt happy with my previous vet: it seemed like the technician spent more time weighing my cat then the vet did actually examining her, and he always seemed too rushed and frazzled to actually have a discussion about her health with. Dr. Helgoth is the exact opposite. He really takes the time to examine my pets thoroughly and will answer any question, no matter how many or how convoluted. The office is nice and quiet too, which helps keep my cat from stressing out too much. Definitely the best vet Ive found in the area!

I would give more stars if I could! We used Dr. Helgoth when he practiced at River Valley Equine in Niles. We were so disappointed when he left. They wouldnt tell us where he went. When I found him online I immediately called and set up our Schnauzers to be their vet again. His staff is great and Dr. Helgoth is so caring and compassionate with them. We have to travel further for his services, but it so worth it! In my personal opinion, Sunset Coast Veterinary Clinic is the best!

Sunset Coast has the most caring staff of any veterinary clinic I have ever been to. We had a cat that was over 18 years old and was recently treated at Sunset Coast. The staff and doctor were very helpful and compassionate. They explained everything completely and improved our cats condition with their treatment and recommended diet. We eventually lost our cat to kidney failure but we were so thankful for the extended life she had due to the staff at Sunset Coast.

Open to concerns, educational explanations, openness to holistic and new approaches, and transparency all make this the most ideal place to bring your pets in Southwest Michigan. I have had bad experiences in other offices in the area before, and that is the reason I switched.
