My dog Roxie was in excruciating pain and her rear legs had stopped working. I called Southside due to a recommendation, They could not help right away they recommended VCA and I got her in. The vet a distant manner, cold and unconcerned with my questions. He checked her out and said sprain then handed me off the a staffer and left. They charged me for some sort of dog safe pain killer and the visit. I was in a panic because my dog could not go potty without help and it caused her pain inspite of the medicine. I lost work time because I cared for her as best I could. I then called them when she was no better after the time they stated. The staffer said "were closing just a moment put me on hold and I assume they went home. I called and left a message and received no call back. I called another vet on 135 and explained what was going on and asked for help. They said theyd get her in early the next day. By then Roxie was feeling better. I found out from the vet that gave a damn and asked me a lot of questions that this was most likely macadamia nut poisoning from a damned cookie Id fed her. Shes been fine ever since.

Swengel VCA - Cinderella story... The reception’s station is filled by three wicked staff members who are named: Bitter, Condescension, and Egotistical. The veterinarian or Cinderella truly loves animals and has the purest intentions. Please my fellow citizens dont be pushed away at the treatment of the receptionist staff. The sisters have become cynical for reasons only they know. When you call the sisters will be rude. When you arrive the sisters will snarl. When your appointment is complete their sanctimoniousness glare will insights thoughts of depression. My request is that you think of Cinderella, she hasn’t any blame for the sister’s ill will. The veterinarian (Cinderella) is kind and thoughtful. In her arms, she cares for how you’re handling your pet’s aliments and has empathy for your pet. Remember that medicine is a practice and that she only wants to help. I highly suggest in fact beg you all to look past the wicked sisters and trust your pets needs to Cinderella...

I am very unhappy, because I thought I had finally found a very thorough and great vet with good customer service. It seems like they are all missing a piece of the puzzle. I was extremely happy with this vet until I called recently to ask what my cat weighed the last time he was in to find out nobody wrote it down. The receptionist then advised she would check the computer. She gave me this really low number that was not even close to being right. I asked if they just made that number up. She said no, but I wonder where it came from since it was not even close to being right since maybe he was 2mos old (and they did not see him then) he is now 2 1/2. Keeping track of weight is a good way to keep track of a pets health. I pay a heck of a lot for this vets service and I trusted them with my pets health. I am extremely upset and the lady I spoke with was very rude and unhelpful. Didnt bother to even ask me why I called in the first place didnt care in the least tha maybe my cat was sick. Just rude.

I have grown up with dogs in my family and have been to numerous Veterinarians over the years. I can recommend no other Vet clinic more than Dr. Swengel & Dr. Kacochas practice. Every staff member (from the receptionists to the Vet Techs to the the Doctors themselves) are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. My dog trusts them and responds well to them all (he tends to be very shy around new/strange people) and they not only do what is best for the animal, they will do what they can to save you on costs. Ive been charged double for comparable services by other area Vets. They also have hours until 8:00 pm several nights a week which is very helpful for those with daytime work hours. Find out for yourself (and for your pets sake) why this is the best clinic around.

I have been taking my dog there for 3 years and I enjoyed working with their team. I went to school for veterinary medicine and I have high standards for the care my pet receives, I was pleased with each visit to VCA Swengel I recieved, The staff remembered my pet even though we did not visit often so it made me feel special. Even though it can get a little pricey sometimes, it is worth it for the well being of my pet. I have since moved away from Indiana and I am currently shopping around for veterinary care, I must say I havent been able to find a hospital that meets my standards! I miss you VCA swengel :)

I have had good experiences here and was very satisfied with the treatment that I get here for my kitties. With each visit, the vet techs will print out a treatment plan and the estimated costs associated with your needs, so pretty much no surprise expenses, which is very nice considering I have had unwanted surprise expenses before at other vets. Also, I love that the staff will take the time and give me information and educate me on what kind of concerns I have with my cats. I feel like my animals are in good hands here and will continue taking them to see Dr Swengel. Thanks so much!

The vets here are very nice and thorough. Dr. K made sure to answer all my questions about nutrition and even spoke to me on the phone about it after my appointment; a thing some health care professionals would balk at. I have also found the vet techs very kind and compassionate. But I have to say that the receptionists there are the rudest group of women I have ever encountered. They are rude on the phone, rude in person. After making an appointment or going there I nearly always come away from the exchange with them fuming with anger! Dr. K, please fire your bitchy receptionists.

I used to use this vet until my dog got an ear infection. I brought him in twice for the same infection and after well over $150 in visits/solutions that didnt work (special food, antiboitic pills). I asked a neighbor for a referral and the new vet took care of my dogs ear infection in one visit with a combination of drops and antibiotics (which makes sense) and it was cheaper too. Dont think Ill be back. Seems a little over-priced and not sure they have best practices.

I have gone to Dr Swengel and his associates for 19 years and cant say enough kind words regarding the care and treatment my pets have always received from them. From the moment you walk in until you leave you are made to feel as if you are the only patient there. Everyone is kind, courteous and knowledgeable. I have recommended the hospital many times over the years without hesitation and I will never take my fur babies anywhere else.

VCA Swengel Animal Hospital is a fantastic place to take your pets! Weve always received the best care for our pets there. They really do a great job with nervous animals and always try to make them as comfortable as possible. They even helped us to get our pets moved to Europe (filled out forms and walked us through the entire process). Go here, they are great!
