Initially I was very happy with this place, I felt like the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was very clean and a nice building. They definitely werent inexpensive and did like to push extra procedures/products... I always felt guilty for not getting this periodontal disease shot or this wellness panel... etc. But I was willing to put up with it because of the excellent service I felt I was receiving... Until I called one day when my dog was scratching at his mouth, which was bleeding, and making odd noises, like something was stuck in his mouth. I tried a finger swipe, to no avail. So I grabbed him and ran to the car, and called the vet on the way there. I tried to stay calm, perhaps my panic was not that clear, but the receptionist told me they didnt have anything available until the next day. I got tearful and angry at the point, and turned around and started driving to the emergency clinic some 20 minutes away. She called back later to say they had an appointment later at 5, but at that point I was already at the clinic where they were removing an obstruction from his throat. Lucky me got to pay ridiculous emergency clinic prices. When I spoke to her later she admitted she thought I had said he was scratching at his face (maybe she thought he was just itchy?). However, I definitely said MOUTH, a bleeding mouth at that, accompanied by whimpering. I informed her I would be finding a new vet, she did not care that I was taking all 3 of my dogs from their business or seem regretful that they failed to help me in such a traumatic moment. What is the point of having a go-to-vet with whom you spend time building a relationship so that you trust them with your beloved pet, when they fail to help you when you need it the most? Nothing like my old vet in Zionsville, who when I found a stray with a fractured hip were able to help her immediately and I know they would have shown the same willingness to help during this unfortunate situation.

After going through a few different vet clinics, these were the people that I settled on to take care of my boxer baby. So when my Moms dog reached the end of her life, we brought her to Sugar Grove. I cannot say enough how AMAZING Dr. Lee and all of his staff is. They took SUCH great care of my mother, her Holly-Girl, and me today. They were patient, caring, compassionate, and all around awesome. They explained everything and walked us through letting Ms. Holly go. It was an awful decision to make and watch my mother make... but the people at Sugar Grove made it so much easier. I cannot say enough good things about this clinic and all of the people there. Dr. Lee was with us the whole time and was completely compassionate, respectful, and professional while we let her go. A vet tech there did something for us when it was done that made leaving Ms. Holly so much easier, also. To the vet tech who helped us at the end (Im so sorry; I didnt catch your name in all of the chaos, (she is actually the tech to Dr. Lees left in the website photo). Thank you so much for doing what you did. Just that little act on your part made such a huge difference for us. We knew we were leaving her with people that would show her dignity, respect, and kindness even though she had already left us. A thousand "Thank yous" to everyone there today. I cannot express that enough.

Over the past 4 years we have had a total of 4 dogs receive veterinary care at Sugar Grove Animal Hospital and we greatly appreciate their work, attitude and professionalism. I have recommended them to several people in the area who have dogs and will continue to do so! We credit Dr. Day with having extended the life of one of our dogs for six months wherein he enjoyed a good quality of life for relatively small expense. It was worth it! When we brought him to her we were sure we were there to put him down. Not so! Both Dr. Day and Dr. May are caring professionals and their staff is excellent and I am comparing that against MANY other vets we have worked with over the years throughout the country!

I drive here even though there are several vets closer to my home. The Veterinarians and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Knowledgeable, kind, efficient and professional. I normally have my toddler grandson with me and my dog. They help me get in and get out - would be a challenge without them. They do the same when I bring my daughters cat or dog in. They call to check-up on the progress if there has been a medication, etc. prescribed that visit. Could go on and on --- but, you get the point.

I absolutely love this place, the vet, and the staff! They were able to get my dog in within an hour of her having a horrible experience at Petsmart grooming. They took care of her right away and got her some medicine just in time before the Christmas Holiday! Thank you for being a place I trust taking my dog to!
