After 10+ years of knowing Dr. Crownover and his team weve seen the highs and lows of animal care and veterinary science. Unlike the other reviewer I could be very emotionally driven but thats not helpful. I could speak about the particulars of his practice but some of his staff are very litigious and known for jumping the gun so Ill save myself the headache. The bottom line is that this practice is focused more on business, less on patient care. They refuse to write scripts because it cuts into their bottom dollar, access to fair priced pet products is minimal and their work comes across as rushed and haphazard. I understand cutting corners when its in the best interest of the business and the consumer but frankly if this was a medical practice for humans the word malpractice would whispered. Ultimately, we saw a steady but aggregated decline in communication, open access to pet medications (mood stabilizers in particular) and ultimately major misdiagnoses that unfortunately ended with the deaths of several pets. My personal opinion on Dr. Crownover is biased so I wont ramble but I will say transitioning to another clinic was a positive step in the right direction. My advise is to ALWAYS question Dr. Crownover. Ask why specifically does my pet need this treatment? Are there alternatives (price differences and effectiveness come to mind)? Do current peer review studies show that this medication/procedure to be dangerous over time (allergy shots come to mind for me)? Again, and this is my personal opinion but like your average small town MD he is not qualified for complex diagnoses and/or surgeries, refuses to tackle the psychological aspect of animal trauma and does a lot of guess work and unneeded procedures (in particular for aged pets). Before taking him on as the PCP for your pet do your research. Think of it in terms of how you would select your own MD. That alone should make you think twice before bringing in your pet to his practice.

I would NOT recommend my worst enemy to this place. If I could give less stars or none I would. I have been warned about this place, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I think all they really care about is money. They didnt ask questions, didnt really probe to see what was wrong with my cat. I think he was in and out in less than 10 minutes. If youre looking for a vet in Tullahoma, Id recommend somewhere else. Fair warning!

The Dr cares about his patients. After a physical or shot he will hold them and cuddle with them. Most vets I have been to will do the shot or check the anal over not this one he cuddles them for a minute or two.

I absolutely love Dr. Crownover and his staff....they go above and beyond what most vets would do. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for a new vet or to change vets.
