My father and I experienced the most disgusting, rude, and despicable behavior experienced by the security staff at Southshore Hospital, Brownstown MI. One man in particular, Steve (no last name since he would not provide it). My father was at Southshore having a procedure done on Thursday, July 9th. The following day, he realized he did not have his wallet. He called Southshore Security Friday morning (July 10th) to see if a wallet was found, and I had called Security as well later in the evening just in case something had showed up. The rude behavior experienced on Friday July 10th was barely tolerable. The security officer mentioned my father already called and basically wondered why I am calling now, and tried quickly to get me off the phone. My fathers wallet contained everything - so its crucial we found it (or tried our best). Saturday morning (July 11th) my father called back (one last try) since it has been two days - just in case the wallet had shown up overnight. I called the evening of Friday (July 11th) at exactly 6:38 pm and received 2 minutes of disgusting, rude and immature behavior. Steve answered the phone, made sure to let me know how many times my father and I called, (which was 4 times total in a span of 2 days, which shouldnt even matter) then would not even let me speak a word. He let me know how the "log book" worked, rudely of course, and tried quickly to get me off the phone. I asked for his name and last name and he refused to give it to me. I asked who his boss was and the only answer I received was "Im the only security officer on duty." When trying to ask a question about the hospital process of cleaning/sheets, I couldnt even speak one word. I let him know how rude he was being and he responded saying, "Oh, Im sorry Im not giving an answer that pleases you" with the utmost immature, rude, and sarcastic behavior. I have been in the customer service/public relations career my entire life, and never have I ever experienced such disgusting behavior from a security officer. Hopefully this will be addressed, and action will be taken. There is no reason for this type of behavior, and I would be ashamed to have such ill-mannered employees working for my company, or representing me in any manner. This alone would prevent myself or family to ever return to Southshore.

I was here a year ago for some psych. issues, I was not asked where I wanted to be sent or where they would take me until the last minute. Most of the interns (or whoever they were) told me Id never go back home. They sent me to the most awful place Ive ever been to my entire life.. which was Havenwyck. My parents looked into this place when I was 15 (only because I was somewhat rebellious) in the 80s. They had a consultation with a few people who worked there and I was home, when my dad came back he had this horrific look in his eyes and only told me 2 things. Many people screaming in that place and a few he saw in straight jackets (Havenwyck that is). He told me that he said to them "My daughter doesnt belong in a straight jacket, this is NOT the place for her." Both my parents walked out disgusted. Not to mention now, after nearly a year of my intake at Havenwyck (which I only stayed a week), I owe thousands of dollars to them and I dont believe they even took the time to even let Medicare know that Ive had that insurance since 2006. NEVER allow this hospital to take you to Havenwyck. Havenwyck should be closed down, others have reviews on Google as well and without MY consent on where I could go! Horrible. I dont come to this hospital anymore. Aside from that major issue, over a year ago (prior to this) I came in with what they considered a panic attack, but they took my blood sugar level, the nurses whispered to each other saying the number "300" and I know exactly what it means, it was too high, but they sent me home anyway. Piece of shotty crap hospital.

I went to their er yesterday morning I have extreme abdominal pain and nausea. First the lady at the front desk didnt even look at me and sat me in the most uncomfortable chair. I was so uncomfortable the Phlebotomist tech had to find me a bed not a nurse a Phlebotomist tech. Then they did give me nausea meds and after my one test they gave me pain meds. I threw up at the hospital. For the doctor to come in smelling of alcohol and smelling like he just came off the streets to tell me I am cured of diabetes and that my gallbladder that my family doctor had tests run on and said was working at 50% is cured and that the Pain on my Right upper side may be my uterus... and that he determines from my one test Im fine and hospitals are only for people that need surgery. He actually told me hospitals are only for people who need surgery so if you have cancer and go here, to bad we cant remove it with a knife so go home. I pulled out my iv plug and bandaged myself and walked out of hospital while nurses bitched about blood on there floor not my health not concerned for me, their floors... Not that I could fall after being on Morphine and throwing up ... Not that I could have a stroke... They were upset cause they have to clean the room?? shouldnt the room be cleaned after each patient anyway?? This hospital is dangerous and horrible!!!! read the other reviews if you dont believe me

When SouthShore was Oakwood it seemed A LOT BETTER! Now as Beaumont, the hospital is packed, they literally have people in the halls in ER. My wife came in via ambulance, because she was having seizures (without prior history), unresponsive initially and severe back pain. Shes had a slew of MRI and CT scans, seen actual doctors, maybe a total of 10 minutes over a period of 3 days. All they have done was push pain meds to dope her up, and anti seizure meds even though back pain is persistent, has difficulty moving and seizures continued. Shes literally missing gaps of time extending to hours and the neurologist say that everything looks fine, but heres some anti seizure meds. The neuro surgeon says there are some issues and have given her several injections in her back now. However, they are saying they are going to discharge her, even though she cannot safely move without assistance and apparently has an unknown reason for seizures. Its apparent that all the physicians and nurses do not communicate what is happening with her. They continue to try to have her move to different beds, etc... The problem is that she can barely move her legs, feels pressure and cannot even tell when she has to go to urinate, but I guess thats stable enough to push us out the doors and enough to make money off of.

Iv had a horrible experience with this hospital. There is a lack of communication between the patients, staff and doctors. I took my mother to Oakwood Southshore and had Dr. Gupta assigned as the doctor to look after my mother. She was there for 4 days and we were rarely visited by the doctor. He decided she was going to have surgery the next day without confronting us or telling us what the surgery was even about. We were clueless and so were the nurses. It seemed as if Dr. Gupta never showed any interest in the matter and did his own thing. He told us to have surgery at his private clinic so he can give us a better price for the procedure compared to the hospital. We declined and he stopped communication once again. He was very hard to get in contact. After complaining to the directors and staff managers, we finally received a phone call from him saying we can take my mother home and call back in a few days to make an appointment. As I said before this hospital is the worst one I have encountered. It was very disappointing to see doctors like Dr. Gupta who do not have the dedication and interest in patients, especially when the matter is about a persons life. I will never come back to this place.
