I started bringing my pets here to Troy Veterinary Hospital after I left my job as a Veterinary Technician at a large private practice, due to medical reasons, about 2 years ago, that was 25 miles away from here. Dr. Tate and her staff have been absolutely wonderful since the first day I met them! They delt with my nervousness and apprehensiveness of actually being a "real client" for the first time ever!! They didnt make me feel like I was overreacting or being overprotective. Dr. Tate was very patient with me as she reviewed my dog & cats long and complicated medical records. She listened to any concerns I had. She answered all of my questions regarding her practice and regarding my pets. Her Technicians, Assistants, and Receptionists are always extremely helpful and friendly. They are also genuinely happy to see my dog when she comes in and they are even happy to see my cat that doesnt like to be there! I would highly, highly recommend Troy Veterinary Hospital to anyone looking for a new Veterinarian, new to the area, or in need of a Veterinarian with a new pet. And this is coming from a Technician that worked in a very large high-end private practice for 20 years and in the field for 27 years. It proves that again, It is not the size of your practice, It is the quality of medicine you practice, your staffs professionalism and compassion that makes all the difference!!! I had to find a new veterinarian for my cat & I am so happy I found Dr. Berk at Troy Veterinary Hospital.She was just genuinely nice & very informative.She was also very patient, not in a big rush as some vets seem to be. My people picky cat let her do the exam, vaccinations & all with no complaints, that right there says it all! I was also greeted with a hello & a smile by the receptionist as soon as I opened the door. The office and exam room were both comfortable and clean and my cat was allowed to roam free in the exam room & check everything out before we saw the doctor, that seemed to make her much more at ease with everything. After everything was done including Dr. Berk answering my many questions I held my breath at the front desk while waiting to hear how much this was going to cost me, It was way less than what I was guessing in my head and I was very happy with that besides being able to breath again! My vet search is done, theyre stuck with us now :)

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Troy Veterinary Hospital and the entire staff became like family to me over 8 years ago when I began using Dr. Tate as my pets primary doctor. They exceeded all of the expectations I needed and was looking for when it came to my pets health and well-being! I cant say enough wonderful things about Dr. Tate- her passion for animals has always been clear and her knowledge in veterinary medicine impresses me every time I am there- from my cats, to my dogs, to my pet rats, and even my pet squirrel, she never fails to amaze me! She is patient, thorough, confident, and caring- everything I would want when it comes to my pets health. She is an extraordinary surgeon and doctor that I am so thankful I found! I could never imagine taking my pets anywhere else- she is the best in the area and I would highly recommend her! Your pets will thank you too!

I took my guinea pigs to get their nails trimmed here. A week later one my pigs had a very swollen, red, crusty foot and was limping. I immediately took her to a different vet. She contracted ringworm. She is in excruciating pain and I have to treat her with 4 different meds daily. The infection is the worst around her toes, coincidence? I dont think so. She absolutely got it here. My guinea pigs dont leave their cage. Nothing has changed in their environment. Someone either didnt disinfect the clippers, exam table or wash their hands between animals. The people here were very nice to me and my animals but clearly someone dropped the ball in preventing the spread of a contagious disease. I will not return.

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a vet office from walking through the door and Mannix being greeted and taken care of by Natalie. Mannix is very afraid of anything clinical but Natalie was supberb in making him feel relaxed . Dr Tate came in and gave him the most thorough examination that he has ever had. Dr Tate was attentive, very informative and the most caring Veterinary doc to both us and Mannix. Phone calls over the weekend with more information and tests results was so appreciated. The service was phenomenal! We have found Mannix his nre Veterinary home.

Dr. Tate & Dr. Berk are excellent..Such a great team they have there...The Vet Techs are just awesome caring people and truly go out of their way to help in any way they can! Linda at the front desk is just amazing...She can answer any questions you have regarding your precious fur babies! I have been going there for over 10 years and have never ever had any issues! Everyone is like family there...I highly recommend Troy Vet for all your animals!

Dr. Tate and Dr. Berk worked together on a 7 hour surgery to save my dogs life. This is after finding a diagnosis on foreign object that a specialty vet totally missed even after an ultrasound. The love and care they gave my special girl touched my heart. Whenever we call to make an appointment Linda is prompt and knowledgeable and especially sweet. Best vets we ever had.

The vets absolutely work their hardest. I love the exotic animal vet, she treats all of my guinea pigs so so nicely and when one of them passed away, she and many other workers at the hospital sent their condolences via card. It was very sweet and they have very good services.
