I visited the Target Optical in Richfield, MN on 7/6/12. I had an eye exam with Dr. Feldman. At this visit Dr. Feldman had me try on contacts. I told him that my left eyes contact was very uncomfortable. He had me try on a second contact. I told him this was still uncomfortable. He said I should try it for a few days and reschedule an appointment. I was able to come in exactly one week later, 6/13/12. During this week, I tried on the contact several times, each time determining it was not the correct lens due to the level of discomfort. At my follow up appointment, I told him that the left contact was still very uncomfortable. He then had me try on a different brand of contact. This new lens was much more comfortable. Even more comfortable than the current lens in my right eye (the original lens). I asked if my right eye could also be switched to the same brand as the left eye. Dr. Feldman agreed. I left the office wearing the new lens in my left eye and the original lens in my right eye. I was told to try that new lens for a few days then call back to place my order or reschedule another appointment. Through out the next few days the differences in the two lenses was apparent. The right contact lens would easily dry out in the air conditioning while the left remained comfortable. This was a nuisance having two eyes dry out at different rates. However, this was not a "huge deal" because Dr. Feldman had already agreed to change the rx. I called the clinic on Tuesday (7/17) or Wednesday (7/18) and asked for my prescription, as I liked the new lens. I was told it would be ready for me to pick up on Friday (7/20). I went in to the clinic on Saturday (7/21) and my prescription was not filled out and not available to be picked up. I was told to go shopping around the store or come back. This was yet another inconvenience. After I had obtained my prescription, I went online to purchase my contacts. Dr. Feldman had written out the rx incompletely. He had only filled out the portion for eye glasses. Never in our exam did we discuss an eye glasses prescription. I called back to the office and asked for the additional information needed to order the contacts. I spoke with the store manager. She gave me the additional information and confirmed the Primary Rx information. While attempting to order the lenses from a non-Target carrier (for competitive price reasons). I discovered my prescription was unable to be filled as it was written out. The information that Dr. Feldman and the store manager had given me for my rx could not possibly be filled by the company because the lens manufacturer does not make the lenses in the sizes that Dr. Feldman had prescribed. Another point of frustration. I then took the trip back down to Target Optical in Richfild, MN from my home in Minneapolis, MN. I asked to speak with the manager to clarify my rx. After a lengthy conversation, the manager and Dr. Feldman were finally able to write me a prescription that I could actually use. As you can imagine, this lengthy process was not what I had anticipated when scheduling my initial appointment at Target Optical. At most other optical locations this process would have been resolved in the first visit. I am deeply disappointed in the service I received. I am very frustrated that this process stretched out over two weeks. I paid $40 for the eye exam. This ordeal was not worth my money or my time.

WHOAHH do not go here... choose a different target optical or a different optical place, period. Really honestly, terrible. For more information, read my saga below. The other reviewer on here looks like they had a similar experience to me. I had an awful, unprofessional set of experiences at this target optical. The first time I visited I was seen by a fill-in optometrist. She tried to network with me during my visit, and asked for my phone number to contact me about business which made me feel uncomfortable. I also told her during the visit that the prescription in my left eye felt too weak. She said my eyes would adjust. They didnt. I had to come back in for a recheck a week later. With Dr. Feldman. This was also a weird experience. I was greeted by the front desk and they told me that the doctor was running behind, so Id have to come back in 15 minutes. When I came back , the doctor still wasnt ready, so I was instructed to come back in 10 minutes again...good thing I didnt have any plans this night after my appt I guess? When I finally got in Dr. Feldman seemed very strange and unprofessional...I secretly wondered if hed get my prescription correct because he didnt seem to be listening to me at all. He gave me a prescription, that was different in both eyes from the previous doctor. This didnt work for my eyes either. I came back for a 3rd time (important to note Ive never had to come back for a contact recheck up at all during my 12 years of contact wearing) and I was told by the front desk again that Id have to come back in 15 minutes which was frustrating. I came back, and was shuffled into Dr Feldmans office. I told him what had been happening with my contacts and what I thought my prescription should be based on what had worked best from the other doctor in one of my eyes and what had worked best from him in the other eye. He pulled out sample contacts for me to try on. Just as I had gotten one in one of my eyes, he called another patient in. THIS WAS REALLY WEIRD and seems like it could be a HIPAA privacy violation. I was having difficulty getting my contacts in and felt rushed. I couldnt get them in correctly and he told me to go outside and look on the mirror out in the store to get them in. I felt so disrespected as I flurried to get my contacts in. In my haste, I put one of the contacts over my other contacts and thought that yet again, the Dr. Had made a mistake. I ordered contacts from the front desk. The woman was pleasant, but no one apologized to me- not even the manager on duty who I had been in direct contact with at all the 3 visits, and who also confirmed he knew who I was and recognized me from my other 2 visits! They had my phone number wrong in the system after these visits. I hope they got my order right, and that they entered my correct phone number in the system now so I actually receive a call when my contacts I ordered arrive. But, I am doubting it. Overall, really awful experience. Should have taken a week, not a month. Should have taken 1 visit- not 3 visits to the get my prescription right. This place needs to get a new optometrist, hes really really bad at his job. You staff also suck horribly as well and need better customer service training. Ive worked in retail and I understand it sucks , but you have a job to do that youre getting paid for-a privilege, not a right- so do your job well please.

Worse customer service ever! I went to Target Optical in Richfield because it was closer to home and they also take my insurance. My exam and everything went fine but the optician lady that helped me was rude. All she wanted was my commission and thats all that matters, no good customer service whatsoever. I had asked her before purchasing my contacts that the doctor didnt change my prescription so should I tried the trials again first before ordering and she stated that I have a 90days return without opening the boxes. A week out after retrying the trials my vision was still blurry and I still get headaches while driving at night, so I went back to see if I could recheck my prescription. I scheduled an appointment a week out because of my schedule and asked them if I could get enough trials to get me by because I dont wanna open the boxes and the doctor only gave me enough until my boxes get to me. The rude optician who isnt a manger said no and that I should stick to my glasses. First off, who is she to tell me I should wear my glasses for one week? And I worked as a receptionist/optometric at an Eye Clinic and if youre scheduled or ordered contacts it should be ok to get more trials. They get trials for free sent to them, so am I an outsider now? Apparently she doesnt care for our eye health. She only wants her commission. So when I went in the second time the same rude optician interrupted the lady that was helping me and said they should sent me to a different location, (cause apparently she doesnt wanna deal with me because 1. I wanted to get a recheck 2. Get more trials to get me by until my appointment 3. She wants her commission.) Overall, I do not recommend ordering or buying glasses from them. Because if youre only there for specifically just contacts and not glasses often offend them.
