"Urgent care" is an oxymoron at this facility! My experience was Kafkaesque. I had an injury--a big scrape on my left leg--that left me bleeding and sore. I went to this clinic and explained that I just had this accident while down at the Mississippi River and would like some urgent care. I was asked if I had an appointment! I said no I just had the accident. The time was about 4:45 and I was told that since I had no appointment I would have to wait until urgent care opened at 6:00. I said I didnt want to wait an hour to get attention for the injury. The receptionist texted a nurse asking what to do. The nurse wrote back "Have him wait for urgent care. The receptionist texted that he doesnt want to wait. I went to their pharmacy, in the next room, for some help and they--to their credit--gave me some gauze pads. They said I should go to Walgreens, two blocks away, for some wound cleanser/antibiotic. I did that, cleaned and bandaged my wound--this is called self care--in their mens room and then went back to urgent care. Because I had left their clinic, I lost my place in line and had to go to the end of the line... Finally, about 6:20 I got into see a nurse who cleaned the wound. She asked why the regular triage nurse had not seen and treated me. I had no answer. and the doctor came in about 6:25. My recommendation is to stay away from this clinic if you are seeking "urgent care."

I went to urgent care on a Sunday because 1) I knew the problem needed immediate care and 2) I did not want to waste an entire work day, Monday, trying to get into the doctor. I explained to the doctor that I had the same problem previously and had ended up in the ER because the two doctors I had seen had misdiagnosed it. I told him what the ER doctor had prescribed and what had worked (antibiotic). Instead of doing prescribing that, he prescribed two topical antibiotics (one cost nearly $100) but because he is a doctor and I am not, I trusted him. The next day, I woke up in a serious medical emergency. Luckily, I went to another urgent care (in Bandana Square) and was seen by a specialist who was actually concerned about one of the prescriptions (he was concerned it had made the condition worse-which I believe it did as well) I had been prescribed and immediately prescribed me the antibiotics ($9.08) that I needed. This experience really highlighted everything that is right (access to medical care) and wrong (very expensive, doctors dont listen to patients) with our medical system.

I have been coming to this urgent care for years, for myself, my children and have recommended it to friends and family. Rarely have I had to wait longer than 15 mins to be seen and the staff have always been kind and attentive. Another person wrote a review about going to the urgent care and not being seen right away. This place is a clinic that offers after hours urgent care services. To go in before they open, demanding to be seen is silly. Thats what appointments are for. Being seen and discharged 25 minutes after opening is great, a regular Dr app doesnt get a person in and out that quick. And urgent care is typically used for an urgent matter that doesnt require a trip to the emergency room, not a skinned knee. These unnecessary visits are often the reason for long wait times. I highly recommend this place and will continue using them

My longtime GP is way out in the northern suburbs, and I visited Fairview Urgent Care here in St Paul Highland Park after a weekend ankle injury. I was dreading the service en route (Ive had some rotten experiences, such as CRMC), but on arrival it was a fantastic environment and friendly staff--reception, nurses, doctors, and lab techs alike. Then, they took a Saturday Urgent Care appointment and the wait was 20 minutes or so. My more recent visit, no-appointments on a Sunday, was a very short wait (10 minutes?). I was in and out of the clinic with a receptive, informative, and patient doctor in about 30 minutes. While I still prefer my GP, distance and terrible hours prevent me from keeping regular with him, and I will likely continue to use Fairview Urgent Care for needs that a Minute Clinic wont serve.

A long wait and frustrating experience overall. I was left alone in the examination room for the good part of an hour and listened to nursing staff on the other side of the door express irritation over how horrible the day had been going, how they couldnt wait to get out of there! I feel ya, guys, but I dont want the guilt trip while Im waiting in pain for help... They tested me for several diseases I was certain I couldnt have and not likely to contribute to my symptoms, but lab work was drawn, anyway. I left without a diagnosis or remedies for my symptoms. It took 5 phone calls over 8 weeks before I was finally connected with a nurse to get the test results (negative!). I shouldve stayed home after all!

Worst clinic ever!!! People at front desk are rude, unprofessional, they clearly dont like what they do. Theyre always so dry, never warm, hardly polite. The female doctor, who seems to think shes actually a good physican, did not properly examine me. She made light of my pain, although she claimed to have just suffered from the same agonizing throat pain I was having. Yet, this uppity, doctor didnt even want to prescribe me Tylenol. The broad said it was over the counter, but I kept telling her I was cash poor! I have insurance! Does it matter what kind? Apparently so!!

The staff at the front was awesome. The doctor did not care for me or about me. He didnt listen, he rolled his eyes, wouldnt respond to my questions, and didnt even diagnose the problem. Instead he tried to give me drugs. The worst Doctor I have ever seen. I walked out of the office. This is the first time Ive ever written a negative review on a public site for anything, but feel the need to share my experience with others to avoid what I experienced.

I watched multiple people leave in a heat and cursing at how understaffed and slow the receptionists were. My experience there was horrible. Besides long wait times which one expects of doctor and dentist places, this one was much slower and longer. The doctor I saw didnt even follow up with me and failed to give me test results. Very unprofessional. I dont understand how one can forget to give a patient their lab results and never contacted me.

If youre looking for a Fairview, I dont recommend this one. Ive been to other locations and decided to go to this location because I moved. The receptionist and nurse I met wasnt the problem, but the doctor. She seems to not care abut my health and wanted me out of the room. She didnt give me any alternative to my conditions. Fairview should start caring about the people they hire, and not just any body who has a degree. Youve been warned

Watching the front desk staff talk among themselfs not checking people in. I filled out paper work 39 minutes ago and I still have not been greeted. . Dead fish floating in waiting room tank. If you have a choice go to Brooklyn Park office, opens an hour later but worth the wait. Newly remodeled building and nice staff that greets you as you walk in. Never coming back to this office.
