i just recently took my cat Sophie to this clinic and i am sad to say that i will NEVER be taking any other pet of mine here again, nor mentioning their name to friends/family. i brought my 13 year old cat here for signs for a stroke (head circling, loss of bowel function, immobility) . First we called to see if she would be able to be seen and the technician said there was a 3-4 hour wait unless she was in critical condition. we were confident that she would be seen, so we brought her in. the technician examined her and quickly rushed our cat into the back where she was supposed to be seen by a doctor right away. 2 HOURS later the doctor came out to talk to us and she said that our cat was showing no signs of anything being wrong, so we brought her home. exactly one week later my cat was showing the exact same signs so we brought her back to the clinic (bad decision!). this time she was seen right away but by the time we got there the major episode was over, although she could still not walk/pick up her head. it was late at night and we had to work in the morning so we decided to leave her there for monitoring; they said they would give her fluids if she needed them. after work we went back to the clinic to check on Sophie, only to find her in the exact same state, and the vet diagnosed it as "depression". she did not eat or drink a drop of water while at the vet for 12 HOURS while she was unable to move... and the vet/ techs saw nothing wrong with this. after this visit her condition got increasingly worse so we brought her to our regular vet the next day. the instant my vet saw Sophie they said she was severely dehydrated and needed to be put fluids right away. my cat has been on and off fluids for a week now and is still showing signs that there is something severely wrong so we did an x-ray yesterday and found a large tumor on her small intestine, which has been causing these episodes. i know the vets at the referral clinic wouldnt be able to diagnose the tumor, but to look at my cat when there is OBVIOUSLY something wrong with her and diagnose it as "depression" and not give her any fluids, even though she clearly needed them, makes me believe that these vets got their education from the back of a cereal box. if you care about your pet i would highly suggest taking them to another clinic, and if its not too serious.. just to wait until your vet opens because the people here do not care about your pets or know how to take proper care of them.. they only want your money. total vet bill was close to $400 for them looking at my cat and leaving her in a cage, not being cared for! this place is a joke.. stay away!

I cant give people any bigger warning than the below. This all started on Fri 12/5, we had to rush my cat to the clinic in the middle of the night. She didnt make it, so we had the clinic send her out to be cremated. The girl that helped us that morning was Very sweet and understanding, shes the only good thing i can say about this place. At the time we were asked to give them contact numbers (we left both of our cells) and were told her ashes would be returned in 7-10 days. Fast Forward to today. I call and ask if her ashes are back. The girl on the phone looks it up and says oh, shes been here since Mon the 8th. I said WHAT. Why didnt i get a phone call? She said her computer showed they left a message. (Lie # 1) then said oh well sorry about that. I"m pissed, call my husband, he goes up to the clinic to pick up the ashes. He again asks why we werent contacted, the new person said oh well let me look at the call log. It states that we were trying to call 317-###-#### and couldnt leave a message. (ok so how did girl #1 say they left a message but we didnt come get her) then my husband asks ok so if you couldnt get an answer and couldnt leave a message WHY didnt you contact the 2nd phone # on the paperwork (his cell) they wouldnt answer that question. So needless to say, they left our pet at the clinic because nobody cared enough to check the "call log" against our paperwork to see that st louis area code is 314 not 317 and didnt have the initiative to call the second phone number on the account. Im beyond upset at this point. My husband asked to speak to the manager when he picked her up and he wasnt allowed. What kind of crap is this. You messed up, he asked to talk to someone in charge and was refused. AFTER you acknowledged that you SCREWED UP! This has just made the entire situation worse. It was bad enough losing our pet, but then to have a careless clinic leave her ashes there for 10 days longer than needed because of this. If a person cares enough to have a pet cremated, then they sure in the He-- do not leave them at the clinic and not come and pick them up. Please beware, i would find a clinic that has procedures and cares about the animals in their care (alive and passed on).

I wish I could leave negative stars. Their negligence killed my 9 year old cat. I had taken her to her regular vet who told me my cat had a hernia, and required surgery. She recommended MVRC for the surgery. We went to MVRC, prior to the examination, I explained that my cat was in significant pain and acting aggressively. She was also very unhappy about being in her carrier and was hissing and swiping at everyone but me. The employee said they would let me handle Roxy for the exam, but they needed her to calm down. The MVRC tech said they would leave her alone for a while and I should go home but leave Roxy thete to calm down. She said that when they were ready to see her, they would call me back to handle her for the examination. A few minutes after leaving, I got a call from them telling me to come back because Roxy bit someone. This was the first time she had ever bitten anyone. I went back and found out that the person I had spoken to, the same employee who, assured me that only I would handle her, had picked her up immediately after I left and had been bit. Although I was sorry this person was bit, it was minor and didnt even require a bandaid. Also my cat was current on every vaccination. I was told to take Roxy home to calm her down and made an appointment for the next day. I asked twice if this would be reported to animal control and was told no, it happened frequently and wasnt serious. Within 20 minutes of arriving home I got a call from Animal Control. MVRC had reported Roxy as a vicious animal. I was told that she would be quarantined for 2 weeks and could not return to the vet or leave the house until animal control could come evaluate her. Her condition deteriorated daily until she couldnt move, eat or do anything but needlessly suffer. It became so bad that I had to have her put down to alleviate her suffering. Had their tech listened to me, not lied to me and mishandled my cat, she would still be alive. Then, they had the nerve to send me a sympathy card. It was simply offensive. Do not bring your pet here. I will never get over watching Roxy deteriorate and die, despite having an easily treatable condition.
