I went to the ER for SEVERE back pain and a bad case of celluloid. I was wheeled in in a wheelchair, asked at the front desk how long of a wait it would be..was told noone is waiting over an hour. I thought I can fight the pain that long. Waited over an hour for TRIAGE. Told the triage nurse my back injury had just happened and there was a LOUD crack. I was informed it would be alright go to the waiting room. 3 hours later 4 hours waiting and screaming and crying in pain i am taken to a room, being curious i asked why so long of a wait tonight? Im informed "if you didnt want to wait you could have gone outside and called an ambulance to take you to another hospital!" The nurse comes in places 2 I Vs in odd places...I am STILL crying. Did I mention due to pain I can not walk? I ask him about Tylenol or any type of pain relief....told I have to wait do the doctor. How long? Well hes the only doctor so could be a bit and out he goes. The doctor FINALLY comes in an hour and 15 minutes later and is WONDERFUL. He orders CT for back and informs me he wants to admit me. Ok im fine with that...i finally get pain medication 6 hours after arriving...for the herniated disk. So far besides the wait time and overworked staff everyone was great. The blood work shows I have sepsis. So IV started and am now just waiting to go to the floor! SHIFT CHANGE new nurse comes in no hi how ya doing...my greeting is "so I see your here for pain meds!" excuse me? Lol I ask if she knows when I will be moving? Her response..."when someone comes and gets you, do you want your drugs now?" As I have antibiotics going im slightly confused and tell her these arent done yet...I am informed "I figured you would want a pick me up" and out the door she went. About an hour later I asked her to unlock the door so I could use the bathroom directly across the hall (which I had been using do the last 12 hours). She informs me she will not unlock the door I can use the bathroom at the end of the hall or hold it! And out she goes again. 20 minutes later I use the call button for the first time and ask for a wheelchair to get to the bathroom...im informed "I dont have time for this nonsense" and she leaves again. By this time I REALLY have to go, so I struggle to stand with my daughters help and pee all overmyself. I push the call button for the second time...she comes in and SMILES! I politely totil her I was leaving, can another nurse come remove my I Vs? She says "NO, im the one assigned to you I do it or you do it yourself" I removed BOTH of my IVs myself with other patients and family members watching from the hallway. I was made to sign an AMA before she would close the door so i could dress. Her parting remark as she left was "sepsis is deadly!" My daughter got a wheelchair from out front and we left. I SERIOUSLY hope anyone else going to this ER(which I have been to MANY times over the years) never has to suffer the abuse aand humiliation I had to suffer at this nurses hands while suffering life threatening illness.

Ive always thought that JMH was not the best, although I didnt find out what the exact problem was they problem was they did every test they could with being so busy we were there 5 hours and 2 employees is they only reason we felt like we are important as everyone else they were just so busy every worker seemed really crabby and rude, doctors chatting in the hallway for at least 10 minutes, no room so my son was on a bed in the hallway. Want to thank Kelly the short blond hair nurse she really went out of her way to make my son comfortable even ordered him pizza,Amy the new girl with brown hair that just started was very awesome running back and forth from us to everything else she was doing and being told to do, thanks so much ladies to you wonderful women I give the 5 stars to you!!!!!

Horrible experience!! I was placed into a room that was ice cold in the middle of the winter, the Nurse Practitioner Debra Grimmer and the nurse who looked at me said I was sick most likely from Taco Bell lol. However, everyone else said It was for sure a stomach virus. I told them my doctors name which they still messed up, gave me a prescription for something I never complained of, and asked me if I needed a warm blanket when I was leaving after freezing for 5 hours. Very backwoods hospital that is not professional at all. Next time I will take my chances and stay home!!!

I took my mother this evening to this hospital and was extremely dissatisfied. I have been here before and had a good experience. The new emergency set up is AWFUL. They have you check in and send you down a long hallway to a very small waiting room. There was a couple in the hallway getting intimate thankfully someone said something but they would not sit still and were very distracting. Worst experience at a hospital ever! Also, the wait was 3+ hours. Will not be returning. Hope you can figure out something more comfortable for future patients and visitors.

This is literally the worst hospital on the planet. They sent my friend home with an 8cm kidney stone and told her it was 3cm she ended up getting emergency surgery somewhere else. Told me my mother Had to be at a different hospital and that she wasnt in their system when she was at Mercy. Sent another girl I know home with a broken foot claiming "internal bruise" when there was a clear crack in her bone in the X-ray! Also all of the nurses I have talked to were extremely rude and acted like I was wasting their time. Hate this place.

I want to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff in the E.R. for always being compassionate, caring, and genuinely concerned always about your patients. You bedside manners are exemplary. Last night I left Bonne Terre E.R. because of how I was treated and every single one of you that helped me were so amazing. I just wanted to thank you publically and let people know there are hospitals that still care that will treat you with respect. God bless all of you and Im so happy I switched to Mercy doctors every day <3

My wife took me into the ER with stroke symptoms. They doubted me from the time I stumbled in since I was only 31. I was simply diagnosed with vertigo and they sent me home. I followed up with my primary the next day and he sent to Missouri Baptist where they discovered I had three strokes. I was told Jefferson ER missed the window for the proper medications. I lost a portion of my cerebellum and ended up with a hefty bill...I will not recommend this facility to anyone.

I presented with shortness of breath, unable to function and extreme fatigue with a cardiac history. I was diagnosed with "anxiety". I am a mental health profession and know what anxiety is and what it is not. MoBap admitted me and gave me a complete cardiac workup. I was given a EKG even before the admitting process was complete. I currently have instructions for Valle Ambulance District to take me to a different hospital if I have cardiac symptoms.
