First off, all of these Veterinarians DO NOT communicate well. Dr. Vandas is very unclear with what a diagnosis may be, and Dr. Toepke does not allow you to speak or ask questions. I had recently brought one of my animals to them and was told a various of reasons as to why my animal was sick. I had even asked if through treatment and future therapy if my animal would be okay. Dr. Vandas said as long they are treated, yes. The joy this brought my family to know we werent going to lose a beloved family member meant the most to us. Unfortunately, a few days later, our beloved animal had passed. Why? Well, we arent very sure. Until now, I had received a call from Dr. Toepke explaining the condition of my animal and why what happened, had happened. Yet, I could not get a word out when speaking with him. He continuously wanted to talk about how MY ANIMAL could have caused harmed to a fellow employee at this CLINIC. He also felt the need to bring up the fact that " we are both in the medical field. " Despite them knowing my jobs name, DOES NOT give him the right to assume what I do for my career. Also, he felt the need to inform me that if precautions and better care of my animal were taken in the past, this could have been prevented. How dare a person tell someone that. So rude and inhumanDR. The treatment that this facility put my animal through was from a lack of care and understanding. My brother had informed Dr. Vandas that our animal was not breathing well or urinating, yet she claimed it was because of stress and due to certain medications. I will not be returning to this CLINIC. And if I were anyone else, I would advise to go to a different vet office. My animals mean the most to me, so if I have to spend more money than I did here, I will to avoid this place. Rest in peace, baby. We love you.

My pet yorkie Bella has a favorite Vet. doctor at Howdershell Animal Clinic her name is Dr Arnsmeyer, she is great with Bella and very attentive and kind to her. Bella has allergy, the Doctor recommended me to a specialist at MO. Vet. Hospital. Bella is doing great now. The Doctors at Howdershell Animal Clinic looks out for the needs of your pets they are awesome. Bella just had her yearly dental procedure done, the doctor who treated her was professional very attentive and kind to my pet, her name is Dr Thies, she keep me informed by telephone before and afterwards even did a follow up call the next day. Both Dr Arnsmeyer and Dr Thies, are awesome doctors. The entire staff at Howdershell Animal Clinic is just superb. The place is clean and welcoming, friendly and very attentive staff to you and your pets. I would recommend Howdershell Animal Clinic to anyone who is looking for a good Vet. Clinic. GO AND CHECK THEM OUT AT Howdershell Animal Clinic. These are the reasons for 5 stars. I would not take my pet yorkie Bella anywhere else. My name is Donna and my pet is Bella!

BEWARE FOLKS!! These guys care more about getting your money than helping. your pet. They can do rabies shots and worming OK but dont trust them with anything more difficult. Most of all watch out for Ms office lady/supervisor. In addition to having a foul mouth, quick to hurl curse words at customers this is simply a dour and insensitive human whose presence will eventually cost this clinic far more in clients and reputation than shes worth for whatever they are employing her to do. They would be wise to muzzle this woman when it comes to direct communication with other humans. I wish this unhappy person the best of luck finding another job WHEN she loses this one.

I came home from work to find that my cat Mr. Miagi had somehow split his back paw open and it was bleeding badly, I had never been to this vet but my in laws had and recommended I call in, they were fully booked but said they would fit me in, within 15 minutes of getting there Dr. Toepke was in cleaning and stitching my cats paw. They were wonderful and had the antibiotic ready for me to take home as well. They have good hours and the bill was reasonable. I think I found my new vet. Thank you for your care and attention Howdershell Vets!

They clamped my dog in a headlock to administer a blood draw!! Two doctors misdiagnosed a problem. Their assessment was ludicrous and so they prescribed the wrong meds. The third doctor is more competent. But the clinic (and especially their office manager), in their infinite greed charged me for three office visits to resolve one problem. The bottom line: this clinic has an idiot for an office manager; at least two incompetent vets on staff; and values money above integrity.

For over 16 years, Howdershell Animal Clinic has provided care for my familys menagerie of pets which has included a total of 9 dogs, 1 cat, 4 birds and a turtle! During good times and bad, Dr. Arnsmeyer, Dr. Toepke and the entire Howdershell Clinic staff have always treated our family with compassion and respect. Their never ending commitment to the health and well-being of animals is unparalleled. We highly recommend this outstanding group of Veterinary Professionals.

My rat, Morticia saw Dr. Vandas for her respiratory issues and it was a great experience. Dr. Vandas was very helpful and nice when taking care of Morticia. Howdershell Animal Clinic is a place I really trust and love so I knew I had to take Morticia there to get the help she needed to get better. A big thanks to Dr. Vandas and the staff at Howdershell Animal Clinic from my baby Morticia, her sister Alice, and me!

I switched to them a few years ago because they cost less. I stay because the whole staff is so kind and the vets are knowledgeable and provide effective cures. My cat Spiffy had an awful bout of pancreatitis and they got him out of it carefully. Also, he had a mouth infection and they gave him 2 shots last night. This morning hes all better.

I drive from Ballwin to bring my pets here. Everyone at Howdershell is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I think their prices are reasonable and their hours are convenient. When I brought in one of my pets last year for her "last vet visit", the whole staff was extremely kind and thoughtful. Ive been very satisfied with my service.

This was my first visit to get a yearly check up and shots for my dog. The vet did not check my dogs ears or eyes. I felt pushed through the appointment, as there was no time for me to ask any questions. I wont go back, and dearly miss my now retired, interested and resourceful former veterinarian.

Howdershell Animal Clinic provided kind and compassionate care for my dog Zeke, thoughout his life. They where equally as supportive when it became time to let him go. They handled the task in a manner that allowed my children and I peace with his passing. I will be forever grateful...

They were excellent walked me through the whole process with my sick cat. Gave me all the details best case and Worst case scenario. Very gentle with him and covered all the bases. Very sweet people would highly recommend. I wont go anywhere else

I brought my rat here to be put to sleep. They let me stay throughout the process and were very helpful and nice. They sent me a condolences card afterwords which made me feel a lot better. Never taking my pets anywhere else.
