If we could, we would rate it a 0 out of 5 stars. The first time we went into this Vet, we fell in love. Heather is a truly nice woman and you can tell she cares a lot about her patients and their furry friends. This second time we went in, was an awful experience. The vet tech that we had this time, a woman whose name i dont feel necessary to post, was very unfriendly and caused our dog pain that was unnecessary to get her for her shots. Our dog yiped and cried for the first time in her 3 months of life. You could tell that it was because Riley was in pain, not because she was "shy" like the vet and vet tech went on to tell us. Our dog has been nothing but loving and welcome to new people. She has even been taken to a couple of our families homes where she has never been before and welcomed everyone with open arms. She runs up to people and wags her little tail every time she meets someone new. I would hate to know how this vet tech treats animals when it is time for an extensive surgery. We get that a vet is a new environment and it is just instinct for all animals to be afraid of the vet, but there was absolutely no need for that vet tech to grab and pinch her collar the way she did and make our dog cry. She even went on with saying "oh stop it youre fine" as if its standard to hurt a puppy who has never been afraid of anyone. At the time of the incident our pup was not even being held down for a procedure, she was simply sitting out of arms reach and she felt it necessary to practically punish her for not coming when called...something that a 3 month old puppy has trouble with in their own home. We will NOT be going back to this vet simply because of the way she treated her. We have nothing bad to say about Heather or any of the other members of the staff. They have always been very welcoming and nice. But the experience we had with this one woman is enough for us to never go back.

Dr. Schatz is a young doctor and her business is relatively new so heres something you might like to know as a potential customer. As her younger sister Ive known her my whole life, and as long as I can remember she has had a passion for animals of all sizes (and has owned and cared for quite a few). She always had the same answer when people asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, and then years later she went and did just that. In college she achieved above excellent grades and often came back home to spend time with her family when other students found every excuse to stay away. After graduation she worked for a period of time with another more experienced vet, actively learning and participating in that practice to develop her career further. Then, once all the logistics were in order, she worked very hard to open up a local practice in her hometown. This practice was built with many hands, largely from her family who wanted to help her lifelong dream become a reality. The people at Advantage Veterinary Center love their jobs because they worked hard to get them. And today, in any industry, thats a valuable assessment of the quality of service you can expect to receive.

Great place, great service, great people. I cannot say enough great things about or recommend Advantage Veterinary Center enough. I have 4 dogs, 2 cats and a horse. ( Dr. Schatz actually took care of my horse during her internship also) I have had several pets all my life and never have I met three more compassionate veterinarians, Dr. Schatz, Dr. Johanson and Dr. Haug are simply the best, these ladies love their job and it shows. The knowledgeable and loving tech team they have treats my pets as if they were their own and always leaves me feeling confident they will be well taken care of. The up to date knowledge Advantage Vet Center has diagnosing and treating my pets is top notch and always keeps me reassured they will receive only the best of care. I always receive a follow up with a personal phone call to see how my pet is doing, which means so much. I have told everyone I know about them and have had several friends switch to them who tell me the same thing, Advantage Veterinary Center is first class with everything they do. I would give 10 stars if I could.

I thought Advantage Veterinary was great. I used to take my dog to a small place in downtown Fenton, but my brother told me how much better this place was. First of all, my appt was at 3 and when I got there a few minutes early they took me right away - no waiting at all. It was exceptionally clean and didnt smell like most Veternarian offices. I took my 2 year chihuhua there who is very difficult and they were wonderful with him. He was squirming the entire time and even tried to bite Dr. Schatz while she was cleaning out his ears. He had a yeast infection that he has probably had for over a year, that my previous vet overlooked. She prescribed meds and gave me options as to what was CHEAPEST and easier for my dog. When I was checking out I was expecting it to be much more expensive then it was, esp with the two meds. She was very nice and overall it was a great experience- the best I have ever had. I will continue to take my dog here. -Laura

Dr. Schatz is simply not qualified to be a vet. She seems to have very little experience. She referred several things to specialists that other vets have done to my pets before. I tried her out because I know a friend of hers, and I am very disappointed. Her facilities were certainly nice (hardly used, in fact); but I will no longer be taking any pet there for any reason. She is arrogant and dopey! She is simply too young to be a vet by herself, I really wonder how much training shes had. I would never take my child to a young doctor working all alone, and I certainly wont be taking my dog or cat to a young vet who has no business being on her own! And, just to put my two cents in, Ive read a lot of her reviews and there is an accusation that many of the positive ones were written by the business itself or friends of hers. I have to agree. They seem canned and fake, and very different from the experience I had!

Great even via phone! I havent even been into this hospital yet, but I can already tell you that Ill be taking my pets here. My coworker recommended Advantage Vet Center to me some time ago when I was complaining about Banfields heartwarming penchant for overcharging. My kitten started leaving tapeworm segments everywhere so, in a panicked attempt to be rid of them, I called this vet. They immediately checked every possible option for me (especially since I told them I didnt have much money with the holidays coming up) and even offered to work with me on the cost of the office visit to ease my wallet. I can tell you that theyre completely customer driven and definitely care about the best option for your pet *and* you. After taking my pets to Banfield and being ruthlessly extorted, Advantage Vet Center is a very welcome change. [I will review again after I take my pets in for an actual visit.]
