UPDATE: My dog is still alive 5 months later and has been diagnosed by an educated doctor with an auto immune disease. DONT GO if you think your dog could legitimately be sick. I am so unbelievable disappointed in this place. If we had money to throw away towards lousy businesses, I would have a malpractice lawsuit against Dr. Howard. He just diagnosed my dog with lymphoma. He did a biopsy and DIDNT send it to the pathologist, but still told me she was going to die. When we asked what kind, he said "it doesnt matter, she is going to die in 3 weeks and you are wasting your time by seeing another doctor". Not sending a biopsy to a lab on a canine is no different than a doctor biopsying a human and saying "you have cancer, not sure what strand of it because I didnt send it to the lab." It felt so unprofessional. To top it off -he was killing my dog by prescribing her prednisone for the dosage of an 80lb dog. She is 15lbs!! Since she got the biopsy and came back from seeing him, her health deteriorated because he was killing her with a steroid. She may still have lymphoma, but at least she will be comfortable with the right dosage of steriod He also prescribed her Tramadol, a pain killer with the dosage of a 40lb dog. I didnt have to see a doctor for this one, I googled and it and lowered her dosage so I didnt drug her. Wait.. there is more. Her blood work doesnt match what lymphoma blood would look like. Wouldnt this be an indication to send it to the lab just to get final confirmation and figure out what strand at least to treat it correctly? The second opinion we got was appalled with his notes that were faxed over (first only one page, and then they had to call a couple more times to get all of it) and couldnt believe he did a biopsy and didnt send it to a lab. She also lowered her steroid dosage and within ONE day she was acting different. I really liked Dr. Howard and trusted him, but seeing another doctor made me lose all trust and feel so sad and bad that he just automatically pronounced her dead while she was still living. I wouldnt give up on my dog just like I wouldnt give up on a human. Any normal person would get a second opinion and I am so glad I did - otherwise my dog would have died in 3 weeks from overdosing her, not cancer.

We recently moved to the area and got a new puppy. We began taking him to Crossroads for his shots. We had a 13 year old dog as well that had been suffering from seizures and had recently become very aggressive with us and our 2 year old son. We called and spoke to the team after deciding we had no other options but to have him put down. He had been a rescue from an abusive home and had been my best friend for the 10 years that he was in our care. This was one of the hardest decisions Id ever made and I was really struggling with guilt. We met with Dr. Wilkerson at the office, and I can honestly say Ive never met a more compassionate and understanding Vet...and I used to work for a Veterinary Hospital. This was such a difficult day, but could have been even more difficult if we had to deal with a judgmental or uncaring vet. We even received a hand written sympathy card a few days after. I am so glad we found this place and Dr. Wilkerson. I will recommend her to everyone I know.

Our cat was declawed somewhere else, and when it looked like her nails were growing back, I took her to Crossroad. He charged me $40 to just take a quick look at her foot and prescribe some antibiotics. We went back a couple weeks later to have an actual repair surgery done. They told us it would be no more than $100 for it, which is twice as much as I paid to have her declawed in the first place. We went ahead, and when we picked her up after, they tried to tell us the cost would be thirty dollars more. It took half an hour of receptionists running around to get the correct amount on the bill. Lastly, they told us she would have dissolvable stitches. Lo and behold, two months later my cat still had thread in her foot. When we took her to have them removed, the doctor tried to tell us there was no way she still had stitches, and then fell oddly silent when he realized the stitches were still in her foot. Theyre clearly disorganized, so Ill be taking my cats elsewhere in the future.

Weve taken our pets here for 5+ years and have always had the best experiences with them. Dr. Wilkerson has always gone the extra mile to care for our 4 legged loves and theyve always been there when we need them. Dr. Howard has done multiple knee surgeries on one of my dogs and shes so much happier now. No complaints, just good people:)

I will NEVER go to a different vet. Dr. Wilkerson is the most amazing person who actually cares for your pet. She is very gentle and loves on my dogs every time. My dogs have received vaccinations, regular checkups, teeth cleanings, and appointments/meds when theyve been sick. Im so happy I have found the best vet in the Northland!

We too have followed Dr. Wilkerson from previous employers. She is knowledgeable yet is never condescending. She is very responsive to any questions and requests. She has worked with our cats and our dogs, both large and small! We have recommended her to many animal lovers. The facility is nice and the staff is very friendly.

Will not take my cats anywhere but here to Dr. Wilkerson - shes absolutely the best! Weve always been seen quickly, even with a last minute "squeeze in" appointment, the staff is very friendly, all of my questions were answered, and Ive never felt rushed. Highly recommend!

We had to put our 16 year old dog down today. Dr. Howard is an amazing veterinarian. He was so kind and understanding. The staff was so understanding and treated me with such kindness. I have been going here for many years. I highly recommend Crossroad Animal Hospital.
