This clinic is in desperate need of cultural training sensitivity and patient empathy. I took my neighbor, a refugee from Africa, to the clinic last week. We waited for over 30 minutes to be seen, despite doing as the sign suggested and letting them know after 15 minutes. The physician we saw was condescending to my friend and spoke loudly (as if my friend were deaf, rather than speak three languages... English not being her strongest). She repeatedly told my friend there was nothing more they could do for her and had given her all the tests and medications they could offer. I am in an allied medical field myself and suggested several interventions, such as physical therapy and behavioral health. She said they would do these and in a disorganized manner they set up the physical therapy referral. I found the entire staff, with the exception of the front assists to be condescending, rude, and frazzled. They treated my friend as an "other". She also showed me some very inappropriate case notes referring to her in dishonest ways and talking about the "many cultural and language barriers" she had. Not ONE strength was listed! I have told my entire family (all physicians, nurses, and heath professionals) about this experience and we are all disgusted. This is simply unacceptable, and I am helping my friend and neighbor find medical treatment that insures she is treated with the dignity and respect she deserves.

Very unhappy with the doctor, I didnt care for her bedside manner at all. She was rude and didnt pay attention to what I was saying. The front desk was very rude to my husband. When they ask for insurance, he said we didnt have any. One of the women made a snarky comment, saying they were not a free clinic. After the appointment the only thing that I really got accomplished was the doctor passed the buck and sent me on to another doctor. This clinic was a total waste of time and money. I was very disappointed because I expected to be treated like I am at University Hospital. The hospital is always very gracious and nicer than this Clinic was, not to mention one hell of a better place to go for medical help.

I absolutely love Nebraska Medicine. (UNMC) The Midtown Clinic is an awesome doctors office. I never have to wait to get in and the staff there are always so friendly that i am always happy to see them when i get there. There also pretty good about getting you in, treating you, and getting you on your way very quickly. I would definitely recommend the Midtown Clinic!
