We were referred to Brinkby Animal Hospital way back in 2002, and weve been taking our cats and dog there for most of the time (except emergency situations that occurred when Brinkby wasnt open). Dr. Larry Ricciardi is very straightforward and factual, without being rude or short. Theyve recently (in the last 5 years) brought on Dr. Evan McQuirk, who is also wonderful. We brought in our 10 year old dog earlier this month, who was presenting with vomiting, diarrhea and loss of appetite, and Dr. McQuirk laid it all out for us as far as what could be going on, what we could do, etc, and even boarded him for us for a couple of days so he was under a watchful eye while my husband and I worked. In the end, unfortunately our dog could not be saved, and we had to have him put down. 2 business days later we got a sympathy card from the vet expressing their condolences for the loss of our family pet. Above and beyond.

Overall okay vet. I took my dog to this vet for about 3 years, and generally liked it. However, I must admit, due to my job and school schedule I was inconsistent. I canceled two appointments with notice, and no-called ONCE. When I called to schedule they told me I had no-called five appointments and canceled "several" others. This is a lie. Before I called, I was expecting to be asked to leave my CC info on file or something similar, but was shocked when they blatantly lied. Perhaps if they had a computer, and no longer used paper documentation they would have more accurate information. I decided to take my business elsewhere. Pros: Inexpensive. Cons: Very small (Im surprised they board. I imagine stacked crates), Poor parking.

Really wish I could have given a review, I understand that when there is an no show that you would not want to reschedule an appointment, but due to a family emergency I had to drive to Utah on a Friday night and arrived at about 4 AM and didnt really have any time to cancel my Saturday 9AM appointment. I am a very understanding person and would like to think that there is a little more compassion here, not trying to bash on the services just wish that there was a little more understanding here when it comes to family emergencies and the lack of communication when a close family member is in critical condition in the hospital.

Okay...were new Nevada residents and really had a hard time accepting the fact that we had to find a new vet. We loved our vet in AZ and our furry kids did too! I read several reviews on local vets and we decided to go to Brinkby. My normally uptight and neurotic boxer didnt even freak out. It may sound strange but the office just had good energy! We didnt even wait 5 minutes and were done within 15! Pros: Located just behind the Peppermill, friendly, reasonably priced, free doggy treats Cons: Parking can be an issue, listening the boarded dogs while waiting for the vet

We have gone here for 12+ years! They have an amazing staff who are super friendly and helpful. Youll never catch them in a bad mood.. The doctor is great and has been there since my first dog all the way to our new puppies! He is very realistic and doesnt try to waste your money... A lot of vets with older dogs will suggest surgeries that will really have no effect, this vet is really straight forward. If he doesnt think its the right thing to do he will tell you! Amazing people :)

I was visiting Reno and needed to board my Lab. Despite several pleas over the course of two days, they would not let me see where my dog was being kept. They said their insurance wouldnt allow me to see my dog in his cage. Really? Not even for a peek? What were they hiding? How big was his cage? Was it clean? I dont know... My dog was returned OK, but I wont be returning to any place where I cant see my dogs boarding conditions. Steve

The staff at Brinkby Animal hospital is top notch. I take my 4 year old Rottie here, and have found the prices to be very competitive for the Reno area. They really try to work with me when I have a vet Emergancy, looking to get me in same day when I really need it. The anal gland expression is $15.00, which my dog frequently needs. I am very happy with this vet!
