Im not from around here. I read the great reviews, and thought I would give you a shot. BAD IDEA. A first time visit should not go from $50 to $250, in under five minutes, without disclosing costs of procedures. And when you did attempt to disclose costs of procedures already preformed, you quoted $25 for a skin scrape, not the $50 you charged. This leaves me with two options: A) you dont know the cost of services you are providing and recommending (or dont care), or B) decided to charge me double because I questioned the costs of care recommended. Your initial proposed plan would come to over $700 for a spot of hair loss (keeping in mind a human in the house with a confirmed case of ringworm). My dog is 11 years old, by having the great fortune of avoiding veterinarians like you, we have enjoyed a wonderful journey together. But please, leave vet school behind, try to empathize with your clients and understand that we dont all have unlimited credit cards at our disposal. I am broke after working for 15 years in the animal rescue field, and now paying my way through school. Skin irritation is something that shelters, rescues, and boarding facilities see on a daily basis, and have basic outlined procedures... that dont cost $700 per treatment. ($700 = three and half months rent for me) But again, it wasnt even the cost of procedures - I have never been to a vet in Texas that did not disclose cost of procedures before preforming them. This is how pets end up in shelters. In Austin, I worked the overnight shift at the Town Lake Animal Shelter for two years. This is when people bring their pets that are too embarrassed to bring them during the day. Often its a landlord/housing issue. But more often than not, they have just gotten an outrageous bill from a veterinarian. They would put their pet, bags of toys, treats, notes, drawing from the kids, into a metal door on one side; and I would open a door on the other. Sometimes we couldnt reach them, they were too embarrassed to fill out the drop off forms, and didnt leave any contact info. They dropped off loved animals because they THOUGHT they couldnt afford care. A lot of them actually could afford to care for their animals. They didnt need the three types of diagnostic tests and multiple rounds of lab work recommended. Luckily, Austin has set up programs to help people find reasonable cost services. I hope Nevada can also steer towards building compassionate client relationships, but for now, Ill take my dog to Texas.

Hello, Kristen Nakao here! My dogs name is Buddha and he was treated with the utmost care during his visits! Dr. Philips was amazing during his checkup and shot visit. I was quite concerned with his teeth and she assured me they would do everything they could to help him. She was so nice and at the end of his appointment he actually liked her! A couple weeks later Buddha has his oral surgery and Dr. Long did such a wonderful job on his teeth. The tech was super nice and went over everything after surgery with us. The next day Buddha was the happiest dog! A couple weeks later we are so pleased with his recovery and the results! Worth every penny to get my little guys mouth good again after a previous vet failed to assist us with this request. I didnt get to meet Dr. Long but he did an excellent job. Dr. Philips was so sweet! I would recommend this place to anybody and they go above and beyond to ensure your pets health! Plus the office staff was very nice and helpful! I just wish we went here first for our little guy but hes great now and much happier. Thank you AMC!!!

My dog was seen by the staff here for about 2 years and I was always so grateful for their level or professionalism, care, and concern. My dogs has had health issues since being a pup and has requires monthly vet visits; Ive never seen her so excited to go to the vet, she truly wanted to be there and to see her ladies!

Animal Medical Center of Reno is Kumas favorite vet. When our dog get sick Lydia always takes care of him. If she was doctor for humans. I would be going there as well. All hands up for Lydia and the staff at animal medical center. They will treat your animal the way a good doctor would treat you. Thanks!

The staff at the Animal Medical Center have always approached treatment of our dogs with complete knowledge, compassion and attentiveness. They inform me as to how to assess the effectiveness of prescribed protocols, and in turn assess the feedback I provide to them. 100% satisfied.
