I went to get stitches for my laceration. First and foremost, I sat for 2 hours bleeding. The staff could care less about you, and when the physician assistant came in to put stitches in my hand, she didnt explain the care routine to me. She rushed the whole time, only to find out she was more concerned about leaving and going home than helping with my wound. When I asked about pain medicine, because I knew the ripped skin would cause pain eventually, she suggested 4 over the counter painkillers. Not once did she say "here is a prescription in case the over the counter medicines doesnt work." The next day, my fingers were in agony! I felt the throbbing and the pain, I went to the ER to see if they could prescribe me something, even if it was a stronger advil...how could someone function with over the counter products when skin has been ripped and stitched? They made me wait 30 minutes in pain, the physician assistant that helped me last time walked right by me without asking about my visit or fingers. She walked right by me as if I didnt exist. They told me I had to pay the office visit to be seen again and they would look at the wound and dictate whether or not I would get medication. A patient that sat ok the other was given advil. How funny is that! I would never go back to this place, they are not compassionate at all. I am not one to right reviews, but if I save you a visit from a place that doesnt seem to care about you or your wellbeing, I would rather save you the agonizing pain that I went through. Find another hospital if you can! I agree with the reviews....Worst Hospital

I went to the ER on Wednesday and was taken in fairly quickly being that no one else was in the waiting area. One of the triage nurses said out loud that she hated working triage and her attitude definitely showed it when it was time for her and I to interact. I explained my symptoms and she left. A Physician Assistant then came to me and I explained my symptoms once again. Very dismissive tone from both. Was taken to do a chest xray, after I returned. I was given antibiotics and pain meds. I saw the PA walk by plenty of times then she did a ditzy turn around and said Oh they saw some pneumonia in one of your lungs but you can go home. And then walked away. She later returned and told me I need to be reeevaluated by a doctor and she would refer me to a clinic. I told her I am a NJ state employee with good insurance and would not need a clinic. She said Oh you do? Ok. And she left. I was discharged right after. No one did bloodwork, no one told me which lung they saw the infection in, told me I can go home even though I previously coughed up blood. I left there feeling very small and with basically little knowledge of what was going on. Feeling very ill, I could not battle with them. I simply left with my stack of prescriptions. Only 2 of the employees were very nice and professional. Never have I experienced anything like that before. You assumed I didnt have insurance so you wanted to get me out as fast as I came in. Got it. I also have another patients final report of her discharge packet... Which means she must have mine. Thanks alot.

This is a warning to everyone, stay away from this hospital ! Ill explain a bit about my experience there. I was brought in and looked at fairly quickly but a Nurse, and P.A but never a real Doctor. My reason for being brought to Clara Maass Hospital was due to a back injury that left me unable to walk or bend. When you ask for help, info, food, medicine, the nurses, P.A and even the cleaning lady promise to come back with an answer and never return. To sum it all up I was left without food and water for almost 24hrs, I had to urinate in a Vitamin Water bottle for I was left unattended and the nurse call button that was attached to a wired remote did not work. I felt that I was given and inappropriate medical screening and by law, I had asked to be transferred to another hospital which they denied. These people have no respect for human life , as the woman in the next room yelled for a nurse in which she had to get up and walk to the nurses station to request for help and their response was, they didnt hear her, but I sure did hear the woman. something needs to be done about this hospital which lacks respect for human life. Judging from these reviews I see that Im not alone and others have had a terrible experience here. Just stay away from that place, It could be your loved ones that are left unattended in a hospital that they can perish and no one will know for hours or even a day.

Negative 10 stars. One of the worst hospitals Ive been to, they should be called Clara Maass Murder hospital. They almost killed me when I was a patient there a few years ago, they discharged me when I was still sick and getting worse, when I told them I couldnt lift my arms or barely walk, they told me I would have to go back to the waiting room and wait all over again. When I left there I went to another hospital, and was told if I had went home I couldve died. I called my lawyer, but he said since I didnt go home and nothing bad happened I couldnt sue them. A friend of the family was in a coma because of them over medicating, the person passed away two months later, the person was just lying there getting swollen and bed sores. I hope the family sues. Just about everyone on staff in that place is unprofessional. Just a bunch of Dr. Kevorkians in this place. WARNING!!!!! Dont go there if you want to live. They had the nerve to send me one of those surveys, I ripped them a new one, but I see theyre still trying to murder patients from the recent reviews Ive read. This hospital needs to be shut down for good. I dont see how they became a part of the St. Barnabas Medical Center!

I wish I could given this hospital MINUS FIVE stars. Dont ever use this hospital. You are going to have horrible nightmare to deal with them for your medical bill ~ EVEN I have insurance. This hospital charges whatever they want ~ Even my doctor proved I did not receive the service Clara Maass charged me. I filed a dispute through my doctors office. You know what? Clara Maass RE-filed claim with my insurance. My co-pay stayed the same - NOT a penny less. Insurance is so blind and doesnt care at all. We, patients, are like idiots to pay whatever THEY (healthcare providers like Clara Maass and insurance) agreed on. My insurance lets Clara Maass charge WHATEVER Clara Maass wants to charge. My insurance said this is NOT fraud. Insurance is SO BLIND. Thats why our medical costs are sky high. Where are sincere insurance and healthcare providers? Clara Maass is the worst Ive ever seen. I had surgeries twice at this medical center and it RE-filed claim to get more money. I wasted my time and energy in the past year and now Clara Maass won. Patients always lose. NEVER, NEVER go to this hospital.
