WHAT a way to start off on the wrong foot! I called on a Monday to schedule an appointment for the following week as a NEW patient. On the day of the appointment, I called ahead of time to confirm the time. When I called the number, a lady answered very rudely "Hello???" Didnt even properly greet me saying it was the dermatology center. I thought I had the wrong number. When I asked if I had the right number, all she said was "Yeah." I explained that I was calling to confirm the appointment time, she looked me up and assured me I was wrong -- that I did not even have an appointment. This was obviously not the same woman I had spoken to the week prior, because that womans voice was different and she had been decently polite. So I asked the rude woman if there had been a mistake in the info they had put in-- I gave the time and date of my original call. She ignored me question and interrupted me saying I was not in the system. period. She said the only available times and neither of those worked for me because I had arranged to arrive at my 3pm appt. The tension on this call was so unnecessarily high, and the woman never apologized for the inconvenience. I calmly said Id be looking for a better provider elsewhere and she yelled OKAY and hung up. I found another dermatologist in the area elsewhere within 10 minutes and I made that appointment. Before I knew it the Dermatology Center called me back, and said they made a mistake. I could tell this was the woman I had spoken to the previous week, because she was not rude. However, this was an awful experience to have -- how can you have any condescending staff like that? As a highly organized person, I was offended at their insult to my intelligence and their bickering like a teenager. Hope they can train their staff better to avoid sh*tty experiences like this. So embarassing. I hope it wasnt a doctor who treats their patients like that.

Do not go see Smita Agarwal. I went a couple of weeks ago because of some discoloration I have on my back. I went to the appointment knowing what the issue is (sister has the same condition) and simply wanted to get a prescription to the appropriate medication. Insead of getting the simple diagnosis I expected, Dr. Agarwal expressed some shock and uncertainty about the discoloration. She then suggested that I go on a month of antibiotics - even though she said she wasnt sure what the condition was. She then suggested I get a biopsy so that she could be sure - she wanted to do the biopsy immediately. I was shocked because I was positive I had the same condition as my sister, a condition thats very common and not serious. Long story short, I left the office and immediately scheduled another one for a second opinion. The doctor looked at my skin and literally within 2 seconds told me what the condition was - the one I expected all along. This doctor said what I had was a "no-brainer". So either Dr. Agarwal is incompetent (unlikely) or she wanted to put me through what would be a more complicated procedure so she could get more money. Regardless, I will not return to this doctor and suggest you dont visit her either. I plan on calling her to suggest she read this review. Best.

I went to the doctor to hopefully get my acne treated. I waited an hour for the doctor and when she did arrive, she never let me get a word in. She wasnt listening to me and threw information and booklets at me without explaining anything she was doing. I had to do a urine sample outside the office because there was no bathroom inside (which meant walking through the reception area full of people with a dixie cup and urine) and when I went back in my room she had left to see another patient. SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL!

Dr. Agarwal was absolutely wonderful. I got an appointment quickly and the staff actually brought me back to my appointment right on time. I came in for a full body check as a new patient and had several areas of concern. She answered all of my questions and really took her time with me. She even did a cryofreezing on a spot I wanted removed right then and there rather than have me come back, which i really appreciate. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

I had a very positive experience today with Dr. Agarwal. My doctor sent me to have a small growth (possible carcinoma) tested. She did a full body check, found some benign spots, while the growth turned out to be a wart. She gave me the option of removing it now or waiting until I was ready - my choice. Very professional, very knowledgeable, even the office staff was fine (thankfully).

Was impressed with the care of the doctor, however the exam rooms and nurses station need a serious cleaning. The exam rooms look like they havent been cleaned in a year. The walls are very dirty as well as the sinks, counter tops, and window sills. Seriously need to shut down the place for a day to have it cleaned professionally, and maybe repainted?

The Dermatology Center of NJ is very nice and well put together. The website could use some work, but other than that, the office is very professional. The doctor was very nice to me, and the medicine she prescribed has worked! (This was the only dermatology center that cured my condition).

The waiting room smells really bad (seriously) and I have been waiting for almost an hour. Still waiting... wont recommend others. Your time is more valuable than this..

Waited an hour for Doctor, after being seen I was rushed out with little to no resolution to any issues. Horrible.
