Ive been a loyal customer for over 6 years and finally left in 2015. Their dental work was mostly good, perhaps even above average. It is their billing behavior that I have a problem with. Here is the story: Over the past 4 years Ive had two implants done from start to finish. The first time they told me that my insurance wont cover it, charged me almost $4000 and that was that. The second time around I was told the same thing: "We called the insurance company and they said no". Moreover, they demanded cash payment on the spot (my balance was over $2k that day), and thats without any prior discussion of fees. It was clear that they called the insurance company prior to my visit but waited to tell me until after the procedure was performed. I paid, thinking that I had no choice, but it felt like extortion. I wasnt as gullible this time (Im a slow learner), so I submitted their claim to the insurance company myself. It took two months to convince the dentist to submit the required medical records for my claim to be processed, but the day they finally did, my insurance company paid it immediately. Apparently, the procedure was covered. Im now in the process of getting my cash payment refunded, which they are at least agreeing to do. As a result, I now suspect that I was also ripped off with my first implant. This was not an isolated incident, I constantly had a feeling of being overcharged but I simply wasnt EOB-savvy enough to prove it. Now, for comparison: My wife (same insurance) is having the same procedure done at the same time (coincidence) by a different dentist. That dentist refused to do anything at all until he was certain that the procedure would be covered, and his behavior clearly indicated that hes looking out for her, not just for his bank account. I guess Im looking for a good dentist now.

There are too many shady things going in with the billing of this practice and how it is run... The first complaint is that there does not seem to be an office staff at all. That means there is no one there to do the essential office functions such as confirm appointments or even answer the phone. I have never NEVER spoken to a person at this location. I always get a voicemail inbox that is full about 98% of the time and you cannot leave a message. This is a cheap, ineffective way to run a dental practice. They make up their own prices and tell you they accept your insurance, but will not do any type of preauthorization and you end up paying jacked up prices. They are famous for saying that they will submit claims to your insurance and have the funds sent to you from your insurance but, big surprise, they never actually contact the insurance companies and just take your money. This is a very poor way to do business and I honestly do not think it is legal. The doctor, Dr. Fernandes, also runs a practice in New York and they do the same exact thing. My guess is that this is a scam. Stay away.

This office is the WORST provider I have EVER been too. She overcharged me and now is holding on to a refund that her office owes me and is REFUSING to send me the check. Her and her staff are a bunch of fast-taking salespeople who only care about a bottom line of MONEY!!!
