I started with Dr Bench and his crew about a year ago. I went to about 4 other dentists in the area. The office atmosphere was very home warming. Everyone smiled. I was very nervous seeing a dentist due to the fact as growing up in the 70s and 80s, dentist offices werent exactly the best place in town to go. My former dentist was very ruff and not so friendly or understanding. I know reviews online are like pictures, worth a thousand words and not sure which one to believe. However, I assure you that the employees at Atlantic Dental in Toms River go above and beyond. They listened to my concerns and understood that being there, I was stressed. I was combat wounded and fighting the V.A, to take care of my teeth but Dr. Bench came in and took care of it for me. I had implants installed by him and he thoroughly explained each part of the process. Always asked if I was fine during the procedure. Told me what to expect and what not to expect. He helped relieve my fears of the dental work as I viewed it as being tortured by the enemy growing up. hahaha... But, he every trip to his office as relaxing, comfortable, friendly and stress free as just as being at home watching tv. He totally relaxed me from the mental and emotional stress. When I left each visit, his office would call a couple days later on most visits to check on me. His employees as well as himself thoroughly educate you and take care of you. They above and beyond!!!!! I cant even form the words properly of how Dr. Bench and his crew of dental professionals take care of me!!! He is really awesome. I have my family go to him. I am forever grateful to Dr. Bench and will be his patient here on out. Semper Fidelis!!! (Always Faithful) I seriously highly recommend his office especially if your a dental coward like myself!!! I thought Dr. Bench was a good dentist because when I first moved here I called him & he took me right away for a toothache which he took care of so after that I went to him a few times just routine but when my partial bridge broke I went to him January 2011 & he said he had to cap a tooth to extend it to fit my bridge which I thought was ok, he did this and in Nov. 2012 this tooth he filed down & capped fell out so therefore my bridge didnt hook on to anything, when I went to him with this problem he blamed it on me saying I didnt go for a cleaning and proceeded to tell me I will have to have all my teeth top & bottom pulled & get dentures, I was in shock over this. I wanted to know why a cap would fall out after only 2 years ( I have caps that lasted 15 years) I know that if they cap is not fit properly food & liquid go under & cause decay & he saw this but blamed it on me.....I am not stupid and he collected 1,000. from me & 1,500 from my Delta dental plan. I went to a another dentist for a 2nd opinion & he fixed the bridge and said I didnt need to have all my teeth pulled my bone structure is healthy along with my other teeth. So therefore, Dr. Bench is a terrible dentist & I wouldnt trust him with something as valuable as your teeth....thank God I didnt listen to him and I didnt need dentures, he just didnt want to take responsibility & fix what he messed up on. Go to him at your own risk is my opinion.

Years ago, I had a accident which severely loosened my teeth. Since then, it has been a long road in dentists offices with root canals, then later, caps and some fistulas...bridgework. The specialist I was referred to put in new bridgework and it looked terrible. I was sick! After much frustration, I found Atlantic Dental. The staff are sincere and professional. The wait is NEVER long. Usually, right on time. My hygienist is so gentle, yet thorough! I couldnt imagine going anywhere else. Dr. Bench has a great combination of common sense and skill. He comes in after the cleaning, checks everything and if there is anything that needs to be addressed, he takes care of it. Another fistula developed which necessitated the removal of the old bridgework!!! = ) He put my mind at ease immediately. He told me what he would have to do and how long it would take. They even ordered me lunch (soup, of course) !! My new bridgework is absolutely beautiful! I constantly get compliments on how beautiful my smile is. I wish I had his business cards in bulk, because I would just hand it to them and say, "hes the man to go to!"

I have been a patient of Atlantic Dental for roughly 10 years now and I can honestly say I have never been to a dental office with a more professional and genuine staff. You really walk in and know you are in good hands leaving fully satisfied which is tough to say about any business in todays world. Although my experience there has only consisted of routine cleanings and a couple of cavities, the office definitely removes the stigma of being afraid to go to the dentist. All of the procedures I have gone through have gone off without a hitch and did not even hurt. I would highly recommend Dr, Thomas Bench and Dr. Tavares along with their helpful and professional hygienists, assistants and front office. I have and without hesitation will continue to recommend this dental office to any friends and family in the area.

i went to this dentist could not get me numb with 5 shots which means the tooth is infected caused me great pain when working on the tooth and three days later still in pain went back to finish the root canal i told her it was still infected she agreed and started to finish the job and increased the infection and i was in great pain and out of work for three days the infection finally cleared up went back to put the crown on and i complained about what happened they told me to sit in the waiting room then the boss dentist came into the waiting room and screamed at me like a child telling me im the dentist your not and publicly embaressed me ,so if you like bad judgement and decision making or being treated like a child this is the place for you

I went there several years ago and was told Id need a root canal and a cap. Not having the money for that at the time I left very upset and stressed. I eventually tried another dentist because of a special they were running and I was told all I needed was a deep cleaning and if I had needed a root canal the tooth had enough surface area and wouldnt have needed a cap. The deep cleaning did the trick and havent had a problem in that area since. Also, while I was at the counter I overheard another patient on the phone switching from Atlantic Dental as well!

If you want a better standard of care this is where you go. I personally care about the abilities of the dentist performing the procedures I require. Ask what type of compounds and resins are being used for your teeth and placed in your mouth. Many dentists use cheap products that break down and are absorbed by the body. Do your research! Very Happy with Dr. Seredas work. She explains all procedures and made me feel at ease with the plan.
