My wife is station at Fort Dix and was going to the 87th Medical hospital until Col Sarah Vick, a Doctor that doesnt uphold medical standards to her patient privacy. She listens to the unit commanders (Col Hayes) instead of doing her job and making the soldiers her first priority she changes soldiers profiles based on the commander not on the injury of the soldier. She changed my wifes profile three times because col Hayes told her to, without even examining my wifes injury. She also tried to tell my wife which doctors that she could see because they were trying to hide the fact that Col Hayes interfered into my wifes medical healing causing her to have another operation on her foot (AND A CONCUSSION) because Col Hayes and Col Vick took it upon themselves not to listen to the podiatrist on several occasions. One of Col Vick doctors put my wife on two weeks con leave and Col Hayes called this doctor and told her that my wife did not need con leave (my wife is in a leg cast) because the unit would be responsible for getting her to work because she cant drive with a cast on. On the words of Col Hayes this doctor cancelled my wifes leave! Can you believe that??!!! The next day this Col Hayes left for TDY without telling the unit or my wifes supervisor. We had to pay 85 a day for her to get back and forward to work. (We are still paying to this day) My wife isnt the only one that this Col is denying proper health care to. There are several soldiers in this company that has been denied proper con leave that the doctors are requesting and in each case this Col Hayes has called their doctors and changed their leave and is flat out denying con leave with no reason. He is not a doctor and the Col Vick should not be taking her orders from the commanders she should instead be taking care of soldiers. This lays at the foot of Col Sanders who is doing nothing about the soldiers that has been denied health care and time to heal. The leaders of the 87th medical group are asleep at the wheel. By letting the unit commanders shape their decisions instead of taking care of soldiers. SHAME ON COL VICK FOR BEING A DOCTOR THAT DOESNT DESERVE HER COMMAND!!!!! My wife had to pay to have someone take her to Walter Reid Hospital to get proper care and change her hospital because Col Vick and Col Hayes were interfering in her healing. This is not an isolated incident with Col Hayes or Col Vick. The hospital commander does not have the authority to tell a soldier which doctors they can or cant see based on tri-care rules and regulations. Our men and women deserve respect and proper health care.
