I have tried repeatedly to give this office a chance to make this right, but seem they left me no choice. I visited this location Feb. of 2015 with stomach pain. Prior to my visit I called the office to confirm my insurance is taken at this location. I told them the exact type of insurance. The gentleman on the phone assured me that they do in fact accept my insurance. As I was checking in at the office I once again double –checked that they do in fact accept my insurance. The gentleman assured me they do and said all you will have to pay is this $15 co-pay, which I did (see bill attached). I visited with the physician and told her of my symptoms, a stomach ache, and she also asked about my history. I have had GERD in my life about 5 years ago, but no longer suffer. Who hasn’t been affected by indigestion in their life? Her diagnosis was “it could be stomach cancer” and that I should see a specialist. She then proceeded to vent about her personal life how her condo burnt down in a fire. I visited a specialist and within 5 mins of analyzing me, he laughed and said she should have known there is a stomach virus going around and that I am fine. Fast forward to a couple months later, I received a bill from MedExpress for $210 dollars minus the $15 co-pay that I paid at the time of the visit. WHAT! I called and asked why I received a bill. MedExpress said that my insurance was not covered and that I should have done better research. I asked the office twice and they took a co-pay so clearly they thought I was covered. I called my insurance and they agreed with me that they should never accepted my co-pay if I was not covered. If I knew that I would not be covered I would never have had a doctor consult at this location. I explained this to the office I visited and corporate, but they refused to do anything about it and just telling me that I should do better research. After my 3rd attempt in asking they cover my bill they suggested they would split the bill. I didn’t know this was a negotiation; I do not want to pay this bill as I was told I was covered multiple times and a freaking co-pay was taken. If anything they should pay me for serving as a shrink to the physician who saw me. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE unless you want to roll the dice with the bill or if you want to be seen by an incompetent physician! There are so many offices in the area that do not play games and can provide good service. I have never had such a poor customer service experience and care then I did at this location and MeExpress.

I went to the MedExpress today to get my chest tightness evaluated and my younger brother needed a physical done for camp. We went in to the office and the front desk workers were highly annoyed and gave my mother attitude regarding the paper work my brother needed to be filled for his camp physical. When we finally saw the assistant she asked me many questions about my chest tightness. She did not listen to any of my responses and wrote down the complete opposite of what I was explaining to her. The primary doctor told my brother he had a heart murmur that needed to be checked out by our primary doctor, and then told my 14 year old brother that "people that seem completely healthy can just drop dead" instead of trying to explain what the murmur could mean. I do not recommend going here at all, if you have any symptoms just go to your primary doctor because the whole office is just a mess.

I am writing this from the hospital that I had to go to after I was REFUSED medical treatment. I had an appointment earlier in the day with my Endocrinologist who noted that I had an irregular pulse and recommended I get an EKG. When I arrived at MedExpress, there was no waiting, I walked straight up to the desk, presented my insurance card and a photo ID. I had not realized my license had expired and hadnt replaced it with my new one. I explained I had just came from my physicians office and was having chest pain, dizziness and heart palpitations. After 10 minutes of waiting while the receptionist went in the back to talk to someone, I had to leave to get to the hospital. I am now admitted into hospital with arrythmia. My next correspondence with MedExpress will be from my attorney for refusing me medical care. DO NOT GO HERE.

Avoid completely. Company officials are not professionals who care about treating people. I badly sprained my ankle. In severe pain, my husband and I rushed here on the recommendation of our health care insurance company. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my purse with my ID in my house. A compassionate company would have taken my insurance card, treated me and then told me to fax a copy of my ID the next day. The people who run this company would only treat me if I offered to pay them upfront. I had to literally hobble back to our car and then go to the ER instead where I was treated in less than an hour. True medical professionals should be far more concerned with healing rather than paperwork. The people who run this place are nothing of the sort.

My family and I have used this facility a half dozen times over the last 3 years, and I was surprised to see a negative review. So surprised I had to write my review, because this place rocks! Its a clean and friendly space. But the level of service is what makes this place great. I usually see the doctor within 10-15 minutes from checking in, and the doctor and nurse evaluate, treat and get me on my way. I shake my head at the old way of going to the emergency room...welcome to the future of health care.

100% of the people there are incompetent. 100% of the people there are lazy. Drove my self out there after being on hold on the phone for 30 minutes to find 2 people working there and the place was empty. They were just behind the desk on their phones. Then I asked if they do physicals that include ear nose and throat examinations and they both said no... save your time call urgent care on it 23 in pompton plains or anywhere else. Theres great medical service out there but this med express is not one of them

Had a horrible experience here. The doctor was very rude, got offended when i asked if my daughter didnt have an ear infection since she was taking antibiotics for it, he said "if i was questioning him, that i should look for myself " then proceeded to show me my daughters ear. Furthermore, the wait was over an hour. i would never waist my time, money, and risk my kids or my health coming to this place ever again.

The doctor is always good but the medical assistants always seem annoyed and seem to hate their job. They dont even make eye contact. A facility is only as good as its support staff. Quality of care begins at checkin and should flow nicely until you see the Dr. I love Chilton but sometimes its not a true emergency.
