ZERO stars!! This a horrible, horrible, horrible facility! Never put anyone you know in this place. My mother was taken here for rehabilitation on her knees because she could no longer walk. She was taken here because I could not get her into a better facility due to her two insurance companies not covering her rehab stay because she first went to a hospital for 12 days and was never admitted. If you are not admitted, you are not covered for further treatment. The hospital wanted to send her home not being able to walk. Aside from a having a very good doctor and rehab team, Dutchess Center is neglectful and rude and unprofessional. There a few good aids on the rehab floor, but not enough to make your stay here tolerable. My mother often couldnt get water, decent food, she didnt get her meds on time and she couldnt walk and needed assistance in and out of bed - it could take hours for someone to help. Most of these issues were on the night shift. My mother kept a journal documenting her poor care, plus I traveled there every week from MA to visit so I saw the misery for myself and I talked to her almost every night. It broke my heart to leave her in this place. There are crazy, psychotic people on this floor along with those there for rehab - I saw it for myself. This is not a mental institution, but you would think so after spending time there. My mother told me the night shift people dont answer the buzzers and she was always afraid people would die without help when they buzzed for the aids. Guess what...my other was here for rehab, but she died...on the night shift. What are the chances no one came when she buzzed for them as she was dying? The nursing home did not call me when my mother died, even though I was her direct contact. They called a friend of hers and told him she was having medical issues. I then called when I found this out and I was put on the phone with a woman who could not speak English! She was telling me my mother passed away and I could not understand a word! The story of negligence and unprofessionalism goes on and on. They did not bother to call me when my mother died, but they call every day now for money!!...even on weekends. I told them over and over to talk to my lawyer. I will not deal with this place anymore. They have caused me and my mother enough misery. I block their numbers every time they call and then they call from different numbers. My mother died in January. I do not appreciate being harassed by the nursing home after I buried my mother and they even called on Saturday before Mothers Day! Oh yeah, and they lied and said they have rehab 7 days a week...they dont. Count on making NO progress over the weekends and extending your stay here even;longer.

Love it my dad is there its awsomr
