I have had multiple bad experiences at this hospital! In 2010 when I was a little over 8months pregnant my daughter had stopped moving so I went to the ER. All the nurses kept telling me that it was normal and how my little girl was fine. The doctor who looked like he could still be in high school kept telling me the same lies the nurses said. After a while (which felt like hours) of the doctor and nurses not being able to find her heartbeat, the doctor finally said he had found her heartbeat and that she was fine. And he told me to go home and follow up with my midwife in a few days. I still knew my body better than that man and knew something was wrong. So I pushed for an ultrasound to make sure she was alive and well. While waiting for the ultrasound I was sent to the labor and delivery floor, when the nurses on that floor started looking for the heartbeat they were unable to locate it and told me what the ER doctor had been listening to was actually my pulse. My life was shattered in an instant. But it just kept getting worse I was informed that it was hospital policy that no one was allowed in the room with me during the ultrasound. Which confirmed my little girl my first child was dead and I now had to begin the process of giving birth to her. I was induced immediately and since the delivery doctor was on a golf trip I was in labor for 3 1/2 days!!! Plus both epidurals I had done failed!!! All around one of the worst hospitals mainly because of the staff that runs the place. Since it is the closest hospital I ended up going one night with severe stomach pain well after hours of just sitting in a room in agony because the doctor was just assuming I was there for drugs. The doctor actually came into my room and told me I had the problem that the person in the room next to me had, after I told the guy I hadnt been back for a CT yet he realized he was in the wrong room and left. The pain just kept getting worse and finally my results were in and my appendix was almost to the point of rupturing. So I qualified for some pain medication at last but I would have to wait for a doctor to actually show up before I could go into surgery. If the whole situation wasnt bad and painful enough "my surgeon" told me maybe it wasnt appendicitis (it was) maybe it was just a stomach bug....Really!?! Im surrounded by idiots!!!!

We were vacationing from Michigan. A member of our party had seizure like symptoms and stopped breathing. We dialed 911. Many volunteer firemen arrived within minutes. They were attentive, compassionate, and professional. They stayed with him administering help until the ambulance arrived. Upon arriving at Blue Ridge Hospital we were greeted by staff and ushered to our room. The nurses immediately assessed the situation and started running tests. They were kind and professional. Dr. Cornelius entered the room after reviewing the test results. He ran a few more tests. He was well informed about the medical problem we were faced with. He was knowledgeable, compassionate, and put us at ease. We received the discharge papers in record time. We left Blue Ridge Hospital informed, confident, healthy, and grateful. I wish we had a Blue Ridge Hospital in Michigan!

This hospital is horrible. If you can go to any other hospital please do so. theyve had me wait 2 hours when I came in from a car wreck just to get into a room and then I had to wait another hour just to see a nurse. That wasnt the only time theyve done that to me either. Ive waited hours on end just to see a doctor. Every single time Ive went and waited Ive always heard the nurses and doctors sitting around, laughing and cutting up and their cell phones go off many times. This hospital is horrible. DO NOT GO TO THEM, THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS, ONLY THEIR PAYCHECKS!!!

Nurses in labor and delivery are very rude, tried to go see my sister and law and she basically screamed at us. And lied to us about her. Whenever I had my first daughter they left my iv in when they were suppose to take it out. I had blood clogged in the tube. And also, they told us they were gonna come give her a bath at 10 that night and woke us up at 4:30 the next morning to do it. Said they were gonna take pictures of her to put in the paper. And never seen her in it. I have another baby on the way now, and if they dont do better this time..i will never go there again.

My wife and I recently had our first child at Blue Ridge. I couldnt have been more happy with our stay. This hospital is very accommodating and makes your stay alot less stressful than others I have been in. Their staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The nurses in labor and delivery even went so far as to stay over after work to help bring my son into the world, and called the following days to check in on us! Weve also been here on many other illness related occasions as well. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing hospital care!

I could not ask for a better experience through out my 1st pregnancy, from BRRH OB/GYN to BRRH L&D both was absolutely amazing. The Nurses went above and beyond to help me and my baby. They truly are an amazing hospital, i would not have chosen anywhere else to deliver at. From the nurses, the Dr, the anesthesiologist and everyone in the operating room due to me having to have a c-section. all were wonderful and caring. They care about the patients, you arent just a number like you are at other places. They have heart!!!!!

ER provider refused my Medicaid. Of course I wasnt aware of this until the bills began to arrive the next month. I was on the phone with my insurance company every week for a year as they tried to come to an agreement with the provider. The provider wouldnt budge. It has been five and a half years now and I just got a bill from a collection agency in the mail. May want to get them to run your insurance first, unless you are bleeding out.
