We had a minor injury, a broken finger and a laceration, went through reception and then to the waiting room. By the way, that room is aptly named. Was seen by another person who was kind and understanding for info. Then we went to wait. There were 6 of us. 3 with a cold or flu. And elderly lady in a wheel chair and my wife and I. We sat there, all 6 of us for 2 hours and a half. No one came out to check on us, give us any information, nothing. The lady in the wheel chair was cold so I went to the office and reported this, and a young lady brought her a warm blanket, that was nice. About two hours in the lady in the wheel chair needed the rest room, so I reported this to the lady in the room who took our secondary information. I have no idea if she was ever taken to the restroom because I had had enough. Two and a half hours and no one was seen by a doctor that was in that waiting room. My wife went to the rest room and came back and said it had urine on the floor. I went to the reception desk twice, once to ask if there actually WAS an ER doctor even there and to express my aggravation of the wait and that no physician had seen any of us. I told her I would wait another 30 minutes , but my wife said, lets leave, this is ridiculous. I went back to reception and informed a lady, who by the way said if you want to leave maybe you should. Then had the audacity to ask me to wait 5 minutes or so, so I could sign some sort of form. I informed her that I had waited long enough. Then I suggested to her that this building would be a great place to start a hospital. I will not be back to your hospital. We went to CCMH in Parkersburg and was in a treatment room in 10 minutes. I just thought you might want to see what patients see when they visit.

this place is a joke first of all u walk in and the receptionest is on her cellphone so u have yo wait to be logged in with noone else waiting once u finially get back to the room you will listen to everyones buisness about buying new cars voulger saying that are one shirts and should be on coffee cups ohhh and not to mention how other patients are doing especially ones that just want drugs the doctors and nurses will just whine and complain about them but ignore all other patients alltough every once in a while you will get to hear where their booking there vacations or where theyd rather be once you have sat there for long enough a nurse will come in and look you over then say the dr will be in in a few minutes and yet again you will wait due to the smoke breaks and chat sessions you are last priority but once youve been seen its another waiting game for a diagnosis and oh god do not tell them what you think is wrong because then they will take 3 times longer to figure it out so now your done with treatment and your ready to leave goodluck with the discharge papers the nurse has better things to do like figure out what to do on their days off or how bad they feel about the economy quality care and service to the community what a bunch of crock may as well be jackson general doctor hangout to sit and hang out and mabye catch some zzzs

Was there with a family member - a nurse manager Ms. Gibson showed so much animosity toward the nursing staff as well as the rest of the non-nursing staff. Her behavior was shocking. There were a few helpful staff but several of the better staff members seem to have been layed off or let go some how. There used to be a great respiratory care person - she was a red head - havent seen her since before Christmas. Was told she wasnt there anymore. When I asked why the little blond girl on days was very snippy and turned up her nose to us. The place seems to have the corner on running off the best of the staff and keeping the nasty turned and lazy. If my family member did not live so close I would never take them to this place. I would never be a patient at this facility.

Terrible. 3 year old son fell and broke his arm. ER Dr looked at xrays and told us from the doorway that they were fine and said to give him childrens advil. Never even came in the same room as my son. Never looked at his arm. If he had hed have seen the very peculiar band of swelling around the crack. After my son cried all night, we took him to Holzier Hospital the next morning. The Dr. there xrayed it and asked me to look at the xray. My completely untrained eye immediately saw the fracture. The Dr. there could not understand how any physician wouldnt have seen it. Im sure some good Drs work there but its not worth risking getting this quack. Well never go there again.

I went to the ER for a head injury on a Sunday. Ive worked in healthcare for years prior to moving back home to WV. I have been both both sides of healthcare - as a patient and an employee. I thought the care I recieved was ok. It was very cold and I asked for an additional blanket but was told they were "low" on blankets so I got an extra sheet. No staff introduced themselves to me. No one introduced themselves to my husband. For me, this is a very important part of providing good healthcare - knowing who it is talking to you.

This is a great small town hospital & the local area is very lucky to have such a place. I have been there through family illnesses as well as my own. All have been treated very well by caring people! It also contributes 2 the community in a multitude of ways that are often over looked. Thank you staff of JGH for all you have done for us!

It takes you hours to be seen. The doctor missed a possible broken bone on my boyfriends x-ray ,now he might have to have surgery. Some of the staff was very rude to my mother when my gramdma was there. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. I wouldnt even take my dog to this hospital.
