Let me first say that the front office staff at both the Winston and Greensboro offices are excellent and do a great job of being hospitable and courteous. They are extremely professional, intelligent and the office always appears to be in pristine condition. The front office ladies aside, the vets there, namely Dr Sigle and her assistants as well as the other Vet (name I forget) and other techs are par at best. If there is any chance that an invasive procedure can be done they will push for it without providing any other options. Dr Sigle performed entropion surgery on my Presa Canario and at no point prior to pushing for the procedure, which was necessary, was I advised that there was a good chance that it would not be resolved. They were very adamant about having the very "simple and quick, procedure done." No problem with that but the follow-up visit a week after the surgery, while the stitches are still fresh and not yet removable/dissolvable, was very fast and a bit awkward as Dr Sigle took 1 minute to look at her and simply said "I wanted to be cautious not to remove to much skin" which was her way of admitting she did not resolve the issue, I guess. I found out after the surgery that the entropion procedure was typically much less expensive at other vets than the $800+ charged by C.V.S. That part is on me I guess. Despite the "notice" given there was no concern or follow-up beyond that which was a bit disconcerting. If that were the only issue I would give 3 or maybe 4 stars as the front office staff is really awesome but my bigger issue with the Vet is an issue that all pet owners should be aware of and expands beyond just C.V.S. My pup (1 year old) had X-rays due to limping that occured after some heavy playing at the dog park. C.V.S. diagnosed her with Dysplasia. It was considered the UAP (Ununited Anconeal Process) form of elbow dysplasia which basically means the joints had not fused. The Vet there said the issue needed immediate surgery and was a more dire situation than the entropion. Keep in mind that this surgery was north of $3000! After the x-rays I asked the tech that "Well since shes still a pup isnt there a chance the bones that meet at the elbow may still fuse?" That question prompted a bit of a blank stare from the tech who answered yes in a round about way but continued to try to scare me into getting the surgery by talking about arthritis and how the dog would have that soon and not be able to have a normal life since arthritis is not curable, according to them. Long story short, or shorter, I declined the surgery and simply provided rest and common joint supplements and the issue was resolved on its own. She is almost 2 now and has not limped since about a week after having the X-rays. It is also worth noting that the anesthesia/sedation used by the office when performing the X-ray caused her to wine for 24 hours straight! It was so bad we had to put her in the garage to get sleep that night. She was very uncomfortable and her limp was noticeably worst after receiving the X-rays which I assume is due to the extreme twisting and turning they did to her to get good x-ray photos. Please be careful when going to any Vet and do not get bullied or scared into performing procedures. Thats how they make there living and there recommendations are simply that. Use your own better judgement and get 2nd and 3rd opinions from other Vets and more importantly other pet owners who may have had a similar situation.

Our sweet Maddy was in respiratory distress and CVS was the ONLY emergency vet to answer the phone Saturday afternoon, May 14, 2016. (The answering service for Arcadia Vet called us back with the doctor on the line 3-4 hours after Maddy passed.) As soon as we pulled into the parking lot they were at the car to take her inside. I wish I knew or remembered the names of everyone involved. They provided us with exceptional care: they did everything humanly possible to help Maddy. Every person we encountered was compassionate and kind, from the vet to the vet techs to the front desk staff. The vet came in to give us an update, and, I think, to prepare us for what was inevitable, and then came back later to deliver the news that they were unable to revive her. She explained to us the steps they had taken and asked if we had questions. Then, they gave us as much time with Maddy as we needed. They were very respectful with Maddy and you could tell that they really cared about her. Under the circumstances, I believe this was the right place for us to be. My only complaint is the location. I dont think it would have changed the outcome for Maddy, but we were delayed what seemed like forever in Jonestown Road traffic off of Hwy 421. My husband came down Hanes Mall Blvd with all of its traffic and stoplights. When you are in an emergency situation, being hindered by heavy traffic regardless of which way you are trying to reach the vet, is frustrating and could have an impact on a beloved pets survival. I realize the vet was probably there long before that area was built up, but I implore you, CVS, to consider moving to a more accessible facility.

I am very disappointed with the service we received last night. In a moment of tragedy and trauma, my cousins dog was brutally hit by a car that would not stop and with his extensive injuries we rushed him to this hospital (which was the only one open near us). As soon as we go in there they take him into the back and we were placed in a private room. Immediately before any care could be given, we were asked to cough up $800. Mind you, my cousin had been chasing him outside to catch him and did not have her wallet. I only had my license since I had ran out of my house to go help her. We believe these people wanted to help for the greater good and would let us talk about AFTER they had treated him. Because of their lack of care, my cousins dearly beloved dog died last night. We were only allowed a brief moment to say our goodbyes and were not allowed to be with him while he took his last breath. I am ashamed of this place and would never recommend it if you want your pet to live. I strongly believe these people cared more about the deposit of $800. I am thoroughly disappointed and because of their lack of compassion, an 8year old, 13 year, and two young teenagers are mourning their sweet puppy.

My precious baby suddenly became ill and I had to rush her here because I didnt know where else was open at night; Im so glad that I brought her here. The staff here took amazing care of her and let me come visit her every day. Unfortunately, after bringing my cat home, she became ill again a few days later. When I took her back to the office, they told me that letting her go was the best option. The doctor and the vet techs were all incredibly supportive and made the process as easy as possible for both her and myself. They allowed me to spend as much time with her as I needed and even allowed my family to come say goodbye as well. After her passing, I received clay molds with her paw prints and inked prints in the mail. Four or five members of the staff signed a card for me and all wrote something very touching. It hurts so much losing my cat, but I am so grateful that she received such good care while she was there. I cannot express how much it meant to me that the staff took the time to send me these sentimental items and wrote such kind messages for me.
