I had a most disappointing experience at Dayton Dental & Orthodontics. I arrived for 2 damaged and painful teeth. Dr.Alvaro Lazo insisted on a root canal of a tooth entirely different. My scheduled surgery failed to even address the 2nd of teeth that was giving me pain. The one in which has a glaringly obvious hole. I was notified half way through surgery that the root canal surgery would be incomplete because my insurance did not cover "crowning". I would be responsible for approximately $500 a tooth. This now raising my bill $1000. One tooth in which remind you offered zero discomfort. Also neglecting a tooth which was the most desirable for repair. The anesthetic was not giving properly and surgery was stopped for over 40 minutes to reapply for a 2nd time. After the work was completed I caught wind of a discussion of which type of filling would be used for work separate of the 2 root canals. A "new" seemingly unproven non-composite type filling would be used without the affirmation of myself. The assistants confused response as to the appropriateness of this material being used left me very uncomfortable. More awkward conversations also took place. One of which Dr.Lazo discussed where his first practice was entirely dismantled and this new office was his attempt to "get back on his feet". This is not sitting well with me at the moment. It is also compels me to believe my dental work was not done in good standard. I was in an extreme amount of pain after the surgery. Dr.Lazo refused to offer anymore than over the counter Tylenol. For 2 root canals and multiple fillings in one surgery this was completely neglectful and oblivious to tooth and mouth pain followed by oral surgery and specifically root canals. My teeth that were repaired hurt much more worse than before the work to repair them. The alignment is bothersome. I have had several complications. I will never return to this office. Or recommend further patients. I am also following this review with a complaint with the BBB.

Great place terrific staff,speedy with great work is done here. Great cleaning done from a woman name Tia she is one of the best dentist thats ever worked on my teeth. She was very was polite I would recommend this dentist to everyone. Best dental place in town with the best staff. Thank you....

I just left there and the woman who filled my fillings didnt seem experienced at all. She gathered all the supplies and didnt even have gloves on. I had to tell her I wanted new supplies.
