This review is of the West location, I cannot speak for the others as I never went to them. This facility was lacking in every way, and it was unfortunate because it was my first experience receiving "Psychiatric Care" for a 13-year-ongoing panic and anxiety disorder. They were lacking in: Professionalism/Knowledge: Receptionists were rude, off-putting, and insensitive to patients needs, particularly Ashley (sp). The first time I met with the psychiatrist, not only was it much shorter than I expected, but we were interrupted a number of times by other staff members and at the end of the session, the only thing we had actually talked about were what drugs I have or have not taken and which ones she wanted me to take. The first counselor I met with kept me waiting for over 20 minutes while she stood outside and smoked cigarettes with the receptionists. When she did come to get me, she was wearing a pair of jeans, faded and torn, a t-shirt, and bare-foot flip flops. I tried to put this aside and give her a chance, but when we arrived at her office and she began the "counseling" she first opened a college textbook to the section on Anxiety Disorders and began "reviewing." (Scary) Also, be prepared to do a lot of sitting and waiting. Consistency: Met with new staff (counselors, case manager, nurse) each time I came for an appointment. Sensitivity to patients needs: I stated several times that what they "required" of patients on each visit to see a total of four people, amounting to almost four hours at the facility with wait times, was just too much for someone with a panic and anxiety disorder. I was told by my nurse that they would adjust the scheduling or who I was required to see on each visit. This was never addressed. Additionally, the vast majority of the staff always had a somber, ho-hum, dont want to be here, stop bothering me attitude. You could tell it was not a fun place to work. They did not want to be there, and this poured out of them and into the general welfare of the the patients and the environment as a whole. They were listless, and droned through their questioning without any hint of enthusiasm, positive encouragement, or really anything one would expect and desire in a mental care staff. Communication: Never able to get in touch with my caretakers when I contacted the facility. Always had to leave messages with the receptionists that went unanswered and not returned. Contacted the main scheduling office at one point and he sent an email to my nurse which went unanswered. In addition, there were several days, sometimes in a row, that their phone system was down and I was not able to get a message machine even. Had to resort to having my PCP refill a prescription because my doctor never put the refill in and I was never able to get a return phone call. Actual Care: My psychiatrist seemed only interested in what drugs she could get me to take, not how she could actually help me or fix my problem. Scheduling: Be prepared to wait forever to get in, and even once you are an established patient it takes entirely too long to get scheduled. Facility: Cold, tasteless, no sense of decor or design, very uncomfortable, lobby is overheated and uncomfortable, many winding, twisting hallways the staff insist on taking you down, becomes disorientating quickly. Overall, not a pleasant place to be, slightly nightmarish. In summary, I give Access Ohio West a 1 star only because there is not a lower rating available. I would not recommend their care to anyone. I would not wish their care on anyone. If you are suffering as I do and have for 13 years with ANY form of mental illness, find help elsewhere. This place will only make you more depressed and more hopeless that you can actually get better. I would not go there as a patient, and I would not work there as an employee.

Jasmine the receptionist is very rude. i dont think they know they are dealing with the mentally disabled and talk very quickly like you are suppose to keep up. its like hurry up, i have other things to do. i found the dr. to be just as pretentious and canceled any further dealings with this establishment.
