Let me start off by saying that the staff is very caring and they try very hard to help the patients. But there is no money in mental health so they have limited funds to use. I have been at Harding three different times and have been there over forty five days so I know the ends and outs of the place. First off when you go in the ER they will take you back right away to a lock down area dont let this scare you relax take a deep breath they are only there to help you.Now if you dont have any kind of insurance they will try and get you in twin valley and other wonderful places that will take you . After they get you checked in they will take you as a Adult to either the second or third floor . The second floor is for non-aggressive types the third floor is for the aggressive ones. You will stay there from seven to fifteen days depending on your doctor and whats wrong with you .All the rooms are doubles so yes you share a room and a bathroom with another person. The doctors are very" treat them and street them" they arent there to really help you they are there to get you stable and out of the hospital for someone else to take care of.Also try not to make eye contact or talk to the other people around you till you know what they are like the place can be very dangerous at times and very tense.

I cant believe how rude the staff at this place is. The only nice people Ive met is the girl at check on counter on the first floor. My aunt was on the 5th and 2nd floor. When she was on the fifth the only decent person was her personal nurse. But the second floor was a different story. The person who let me in the door, a heavy set black women, was one of the rudest people Ive ever had the displeasure of meeting. She was unhelpful, rude, short and just plain disgusting in her attitude. She wouldnt even make eye contact with me. My aunt, the patient, had the same experience. This woman wouldnt even let me out of the door when I left. She set at the counter stuffing her face while a nurse who was clearly busy doing something important had to let me out. If most of the staff are like this than how the heck could they care about people who are there for mental help. This woman obviously doesnt care about her job or the patients family. She certainly doesnt care about the patients.

My aunt is in there and it has been almost two weeks a cop had to help us in order to even know if she was even there. I do not even think they been giving her the msgs. I understand they gotta protect the patients rights and things. It is just annoying cause my mom and my aunt both have a mental illness my mom havent had issues for years since I got her out of nursing home. But now I think my mom is slowly going back into depression cause being worried about her sister. I been making calls and everything but it is so air tight to where I cant even get a msg to her. She probably thinks we dont even care about her cause we left her there which I am doing everything in my power to help her. They didnt even wanna tell the cop who was filing her as a missing person. But he got them to at least tell him to not worry about filing the missing persons.

Overnight desk was very helpful tracking down a family member we believed to be missing. After days of being given the runaround from jails, hospitals, other facilities, he went above and beyond to make sure I wasnt left again in the dark to wonder was my loved one in their care. I realize patient privacy is a big concern, however when you are dealing with mental health and a missing person, its the first priority of the family to find out if that person is in custody or on the streets. This particular incident was a month ago or so, but I wanted to say something kind specifically of it. I will also note, all of our experiences with OSU and their psychiatric departments have always been the best. My sincere thanks.

Professional mental health experts helped guide me to recovery. The nurses were personable and plentiful, the therapy staff was busy with a full schedule of events to care for patients. I met with my team on a daily basis. I did not feel abandoned. A casual friendly atmosphere was maintained and I was sent back into the world equipped with what I had entered the hospital with as well as the medications and appointment schedules necessary to ease back into life. A cab voucher was provided to see me home. Any complaints are cosmetic and a reflection on a national deterioration of infrastructure spending since my first hospitalization there thirty-two years ago.

I had an amazing stay there. The pod I was in was always clean as well as my room. The staff and nurses where all so very nice and caring.you always get the help that you need 24/7. You are always supervised and are never alone. Everyone there is so helpful I would recomend anyone to this hospital. You really learn alot there. When I first went I was so depressed and felt horrible and tried to kill my self 3 times. They helped me in ways no one ever could. They saved me from myself thay saved my life. Now I feel great and I am also alive. I woukd strongly recomend anyone to go to this place.

I attended PHP (partial hospitalization program) and it would have been very helpful. Except one of the staff members seemed to have a great deal of animosity towards me. Ill never forget Char. A mature woman with an immature attitude. Eventually I left the program without any success... No psychiatrist, just wrenched memories.

"Doctor" Jiner and I use doctor in quotes because I wouldnt recommend her to my worst enemy. My fiancé is constantly trying to get ahold of her and cant. She constantly has nurses call back and never answers her phone. If you go here for help and she becomes your psychiatrist run like hell!

Called in today to ask about visitation and the person on the phone said "if you ever want to get in here you need to go to the emergency room." If someone was actually in a mental health crisis and this is who they spoke to it would most likely not be a good outcome.

My Experience With OSU Harding Hospital has been wonderful. The doctors have helped me so much. The hospital is clean even the inpatient rooms are clean. I have been seeing my Phycologist and Psychiatrist since 2013.
