If I could give it a zero I would. First when I went into labor the nurse kept pushing her entire hand in me telling me to push with her hand in me causing to much pressure on my sons head because she kept jamming they hand around the babies head. She walked out saying I wasnt ready yet as soon as she shut the door my sons head popped out without me pushing. Then your Dr pulls the placenta out by the cord instead of letting me push it out resulting in half of it being left inside me without him even noticing me. Then I come back two days later to your ER just for them to send me home with high blood pressure, high fever, hemorrhaging, and vomiting. Came back to the ER the next day in hopes of better treatment just to be sent home again with same issues. Had to go all the way to sycamore hospital for treatment they then had to call you to tell you to admit me. They said I was another day two tops away from dying. Do you know how devastating that is to hear? If you could actually hire doctors worth the money you pay them then this all could of been avoided. The ob who actually seen me and admitted me was livid. She reported both ER doctors who sent me home and said she didnt understand how the Dr who delivered me missed so much of my placenta if he had actually examined it. I was in the hospital for a week! By the time I got out my milk was completely dried up and I couldnt even breastfeed my newborn. I missed that first week of crucial bonding just because you and your doctors cant do their job right the first time around.

I have a mixed review. The care I received at Atrium Medical in Mason was excellent. The Drs treated me quickly and did everything they needed to do in an emergency situation. The problem came with the billing. It was an expensive bill which I put on a payment plan - that was easy. The problem was that they didnt always credit my account for my payments every month. There was no rhyme or reason why one payment would get credited and another would not. I used my HSA account to make payments so they were made the same day of the month every month consistently. Sometimes the payment would clear in 2 days sometimes 15 days. I kept getting notices that I wasnt paying so I called them to find out what was wrong. Gave them the check numbers of the payments. That wasnt enough for them to track it through their system. I had to request the HSA company to send me proof of payment which I forwarded to them. I got a "FINAL NOTICE" bill stating they were turning over to collections after I had already paid the entire amount off. I have called them numerous times sent in photocopies of the cancelled checks. They said that someone there must have deposited the amount to the wrong account or credited the wrong acct, and they claim not to have received the copies of the proof of payment I sent 2 weeks ago. Too bad the billing department has soured my opinion of the facility. Make sure you keep copies of your payments to them.

Overall, Id give ER and Medical Recovery 4.5 stars each. ICU gets a solid 1. Heres why: I was admitted to the ER and the ICU my first go around, and the ER staff was very friendly, very professional. They got done what needed doing and did it with a smile (when appropriate). The ICU staff however was a 70/30 split in professionalism. Most of the nurses couldnt nurse their way out of a wet paper bag, but that 30% of staff in the ICU that was professional and responsive almost made up for the other mishaps I suffered at the hands of the 70%. Almost. Except for the part where I hit a solid 10/10 on the pain scale twice and the attending nurse let me scream in agony until I passed out. Not fun. Second time around for follow up surgery I was in the regular medical wing and either theyre better at their job or they took my officially documented complaint seriously from the first go around. The staff that I got was overworked but they were very attentive and I really had no problems with them. Over all I wouldnt go back simply because it is out of my driving range (didnt have a choice the first time, thats where the ambulance took me). But my bias is mostly due to that first horrible experience and my surgeons personal office practices.

Excellent care from Dr. Sadu.. Excellent care but one Er was horrible to me for thinking my chest pain was due to anxiety when Dr. Sadhu found I have Coronary artery spasms and Polymylgia Rheumatoid Arthritis which is a auto-immune vasculitis type of disease. I will never forget how awful he treated me. He thought I was drug seeking and I am an RN. They have record of this ER physician and I still got billed by this horrible man and paid my bill. But the Cardiac care from Dr. SAdhu and staff was fantastic. Excellent physician, staff.. just this old time ER DR. who judges people because I was going to a pain clinic at that time. Taking Tramadol. I hope he never treats a person and makes them feel like I did. I have never abused drugs, never smoked ,.. nothing... Otherwise, this hospital is outstanding... they do a great job. Very attentive, Nurses, nurse aides, Blood technicians. VERY good, and polite. Better care than at other hospitals.

This is extremely poor... I took a friend of mine with chest pains 1st - There was a line to get checked in at the front door... I get it, they are busy, but dont have 1 person get all billing info, etc etc etc while there are 10 to 15 people waiting. 2nd - She finally got her up there, told them chest pains and they got her a wheelchair and finished getting her address, phone, billing information, etc 3rd - Told ME to push her to the waiting area, while 3 CNAS, Nurses, and other staff stood around watching 4th - After 5 minutes, (BTW, heart attack victim would probably be dead now), once again TOLD me to push her to the triage area to get her vitals. That is when I left and went back to the car, now typing this comment. Please pray she isnt having a heart attack. But honestly, who the hell is going to read this who can try to fix these problems. I honestly no one cares at this hospital.

In my personal opinion, there is not another hospital that I would go to. Ive always have excellent services from the reception area all the way to treatment from the Nurses and Doctors. I recently have been released from the Wound Clinic, where they attended to my every need from questions to my concerns and treatment, with a friendly, compassionate and sincere attitude. I was admitted to the hospital during that time and it felt like I had my own personal treatment team. Even during emergencies I was taken directly to a room and a nurse or attending physician was very quick to respond. Emergency rooms have their hands full at times and everybody thinks that they are more important than the other people in there. But over all The Atrium Medical Center is tops on my list. Thank you Larry Klamo
