My wife and I have now been taking our son to Dr. Loochtan for appx 3 years. My sons teeth look awesome. Dr. Loochtan and his staff are always pleasant, knowledgeable, understanding, prompt and caring. The office is clean and comfortable. My son tends to get fairly anxious when experiencing situations outside of his normal routine, but going to the dentist has been a breeze thus far, thanks to Dr. Loochtan and his staff. I dont get why there are bad reviews out there complaining about bedside manner. Never have had a problem with Dr. Loochtan. Hes a dentist, not Jerry Seinfeld. His demeanor is perfectly suited for what he does: patient, compassionate, friendly but also willing to tell a parent what they need to do (or stop doing) to keep their kids teeth healthy. He also didnt try force my son to do anything that was too uncomfortable. This allowed my son to really begin to trust the doc and at subsequent appointments make the necessary transitions. At our last appointment, my son sat in the chair by himself and let Dr. Loochtan use toothpaste and the fluoride treatment, which were great steps in the right direction for us.

Dr. Loochtan and his staff are wonderful, and make going to the dentist a fun experience for my 4 yr old little guy. He has had problems with his teeth, and he has had quite a bit of work done. Dr. Loochtan was very honest with me that I need to do a better job with what I am doing, but also provided me the proper patient education to correct this bad dental hygiene cycle. I have 2 other children that went to a different pediatric dentist when they were younger, and never once did that dentist tell me what I was or wasnt doing correctly. I feel like Dr. Loochtan does care and does show me what I am doing wrong. It was hard to hear that a lot of this is my fault that my son needs the work in the first place, but I would rather hear the truth than have it sugar coated. How are you supposed to fix something when you dont know what needs to be done differently. They are great with the kids and very patient. There are video games and they watch movies if they are getting work done. They really try to mix fun in there so going to the dentist isnt scary. And I drive an hour and a half to have him see my child.

I have been taking our (4) children to Dr. Loochtan for dental care for the past 5yrs. We always receive top-notch care from everyone. Our youngest daughter was adopted from China and she had a cleft lip and palate that was repaired after we brought her home. Due to her mouth surgeries, she is apprehensive with any dental procedure. The last time we were in the office, she was very upset and cried while the hygienist was trying to calm her for a cleaning. They moved us to a private room, allowed me to sit in the chair and hold her, and Dr. Loochtan personally cleaned her teeth AFTER letting her feel and touch the instruments that he would be using. She was totally comfortable with him working on her. When I last had her at the cleft lip and palate clinic at Nationwide Childrens, they were so complimentary of how well her teeth are taken care of by Dr. Loochtan.

Im not sure why this Dr. is actually a pediatric dentist. My son had an awful experience with him. He has no patience with children what so ever. He gave my son numbing medicine for his gum then immediately gave him a needle in his mouth to continue the numbness. He tried to convince me that my son was confusing pain for numbness. Really?? My son had the same procedure done at another office several years ago without any complications. Dr. Loochtan was willing to send us on our way without completing the procedure. I will never return back to this office. This Doctor is awful. Im not sure why these people are raving his performances. They maybe getting it confused on the work that his technicians does when they clean the childrens teeth. On a good note, his staff was extremely nice. But this Doctor, will never see my children again.

I have children with special needs, and Dr. Loochtan is the best dentist that I have ever had for them. Its been 6 years and counting. He takes the time to talk to my children and make them comfortable in the chair. Once he had to do dental work on one of my kids under general anesthesia. I was so scared but Dr. Loochtan was very re-assuring and understanding. My son was in excellent hands with him and his anesthesia team at Nationwide Childrens Hospital. My son got all his cavities fixed in one visit and now he only needs cleanings and regular checks at the office. I recommend Dr .Loochtan to all families especially kids with special needs. Dr. Loochtan and his staff are compassionate and resourceful.

We have been taking our child to Dr. Loochton for 3 years. When we first starting seeing him, our son was extremely uncomfortable, and refused the toothpaste. Dr. Loochton was very patient with him & very gentle. Now, our son is 6, he sits in the chair by himself, & goes through the whole process (with toothpaste) neither squirming nor complaining. He even got his first x-Ray! Were very happy with the way hes been treated throughout the whole experience & how hes been able to grow according to his own comfort level. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Our second has his first dental appointment with Dr. Loochtan in the fall.

My son had a bad experience at our first dentist. He has lots of cavities & NO he does not eat a lot of junk---seriously. We moved out east & I thought it would be great to take him to a ped dentist. Not this guy! I was told my sons cavities are because he nursed after he got his first teeth (really?? he was 5 months old) & neglect. The dentist didnt believe me when I told him I really dont keep sugary sweets in the house & brush teeth 2xs a day. He wouldnt let me explain a cap on a tooth to my son, saying he was too smart for his own good. Oh and the special technique for calming kids down....laughing gas & not explaining whats being done.

We have known Dr Loochtan for several years. We have custody of two ADHD grandsons who are very resistant to change and new experiences. Dr Loochtan was our first choice for a pediatric dentist based on our personal knowledge of his character. He is kind and patient with the children and ensures that their visits are pleasant in every way he can, resulting in great success in their treatment. I can speak very highly of his professionalism and caring nature. I believe that proper dental care would be nearly impossible for these children were it not for the abilities of Dr Loochtan.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Loochtans for ten years, and still return for cleanings and regular check ups. When I was younger, I had a negative experience at another dental office; when I started seeing Dr. Loochtan, I was frightened and apprehensive about receiving dental care. He helped me through my anxiety and since, I have been quite comfortable receiving dental care. I appreciate his patience, as well as that of his staff. I will continue to visit Dr. Loochtan in the future, and would recommend his service to any of my friends or acquaintances with children.
