Heres the thing. They know what theyre doing. They know how to handle the animals, but they have no idea how to handle the people. My friend and I found a stray cat with a lot of problems. I had 300 dollars on my Care Credit Card and thought that we could take her in and at least get a diagnosis. They charged us more than $300 for a lot of tests and such, and then when we told them we didnt have any more money, the vet in charge of our case yelled at us, saying that "We wanted a pet but didnt want to take responsibility for it." We were just trying to help a stray out, she was blind in one eye and standing in the rain! And they told us to go back into the back where this cat was IN A CAGE to try and guilt us into paying money that we didnt have to save her. She did have fixable problems, but neither of us were employed, we literally could not do anything about it. We were both in college, we only had so much money. To this day I am terrified of animal hospitals and cannot handle vets. Thanks for ripping at my heart strings Worthington. Now I hardly trust any vet with my cats. If you do not have a choice, go there, but do NOT let them treat you this way. Its inhumane.

My dog and I became associated with the hospital thru a referral from one of my pet sitting clients. Over the course of the last 2 years, emergencies happened with my clients dog and we began a relationship with all the techs and veterinarians. Amazing care as well as compassionate care. My dog and I became clients back in May when she needed to see a vet for arthritic issues. Dr.Kofron to the rescue! Dr.Kofron has been amazing,helpful,and very assuring about my dogs course of treatment. Many options are also available such as physical therapy and laser treatments. They also have a certified physical therapy tech on staff. We are exploring this option currently and appreciate the opportunity to explore holistic options for care. The cost of treatment would be the only downside to this practice, but my dog is a member of my family and vet expenses are part of the responsibility of having a dog. We would recommended this practice to every senior dog parent as well as any dogs with orthopedic and arthritic issues. Super happy with all the care.

My experience with the Animal Hospital of Worthington was a short one, but it left a great impression with me. The ENTIRE team seemed TRULY caring, sympathetic, and understanding. My husband and I brought in my cat whom had an enlarged stomach that was hard upon our return from vacation. They very quickly triaged my cat and ran blood work, and let us know what they thought was going on along with the few options we had including surgery and euthanasia. I made the hardest decision I have ever had to make that day to put my cat to sleep. Never once did I feel judged for making that judgment call. Thank you for your sincere care, and being willing to make two paw print copies for me.

This place is really outstanding. I took my dog here for her first checkup after adopting her from the animal shelter. She is extremely shy around people, but the entire staff here was so understanding and friendly with her, she was best friends with everyone by the time we left. Best of all, it was pouring down rain as we walked out the door, and the staff was so kind as to walk out with me in the downpour to help get her in the car. Besides that, I got some great tips on helping her come out of her shell, that well be able to work on at home. I would recommend Animal Hospital of Worthington to anyone. Thanks for a great visit!

Ive been going to AHOW for almost 15 years. Theyve been helpful through everything from cancer diagnosis to dentals to feline asthma. Theyve even helped us out with the occasional sick (or pregnant) stray cat. My experience is that they do their best to keep costs down for us, and make the potential bills clear when they cant be avoided. The kindness shown towards my most nervous dog or my most outgoing (and noisy) cat is remarkable. I cant imagine wanting to take my critters anywhere else, and recommend this vet to anyone who asks.

My new cat developed a terrible URI within a few days of bringing her home. Chittenden vet clinic couldnt fit me in for another FIVE days, and I knew I needed to get her started on antibiotics fast. I called worthington and they fit me in the same day. It was a little pricier than Ive experienced before, but the vet was wonderful and they put my mind at ease!
