On my initial visit everyone was friendly and helpful. Of course when you want someones money then why would you treat them rudely. I had initially gone in for an eye exam and to get a new pair of glasses prior to my insurance benefits expiring. Like I said I had wanted to get some glasses. They convinced me that contacts might be the way to go. I will admit that I have been interested in trying them for a while, but somewhat apprehensive. I was told they would be cheaper than glasses in the long run as each set of contacts will last 4-5 weeks at a time. They also assured me that my insurance would cover the exam for contacts so I agreed to go that route. Here is where everything went south. The heavy receptionist who helped me learn how to put my contacts in. She failed to tell me that I had to clean them by hand every single day by rubbing each side of the lens between my fingers with a cleaning solution to get the built up protein off of the lenses each day. The doctor Jacob Janecek failed to tell me that they are not guaranteed to last 4-5 weeks but can last as little as 2 weeks at a time depending on the quality of the lens set and protein build up (2 week usage makes them very expensive over on my end to use). Last but not least the insurance did NOT COVER my exam and I was stuck with the bill which I refused to pay. I pay extra for the service of them being able to bill the insurance companies. They raise their rates to compensate for the time and manpower to bill insurance companies. When I went back after six months of fighting with them about it they told me that they had called the insurance company and confirmed that I was covered before proceeding with the billings. If the insurance company refused to cover it then it was my fault and I had to deal with it myself. Excuse me? No you get paid to do that for me. You deal with them every day and it would be a piece of cake for you to call them up and deal with it in a mere 20 minutes or less since you know all the lingo and tricks for motivating them. It could potentially take me weeks to get a mere $55 reimbursement settled with them myself or at all. I called them after recieving my first bill in the mail to discuss what was going on. They apologised profusely stating they would return the contacts and give me a set of glasses at a heavy discount. But when I went in they were no longer willing to offer that to me for the misunderstanding. I had ordered contacts through my insurance and had never picked them up. In the six months they sat there at the doctors I NEVER ONCE RECIEVED A CALL THAT THEY WERE THERE FOR PICK UP. I told the overweight secretary to throw out the contact lenses and wipe the bill clean as I would never have gone the route of contact lenses had I been fully informed of everything involved such as care and costs. She tried to fight with me telling me that there was no way to zero out my bill. Finally she realized I was in it for the fight to the death and waived me away in annoyance stating "Whatever Ill take care of it, so you can just go." If I thought it would accomplish something I would file a complaint with the better business bureau, which I actually may still do. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone on a budget or without insurance or just in general. They charge about $79 more than any other clinic I have ever been to for an eye exam. The only reason I went to these con artists is because my wife had been there and said they were nice. BOTH OF US have changed our opinions and our whole family and all our friends will never step foot in this place after the way we were treated here. You will forever sit in my category "BAD BUSINESSES"

Sunset eye clinic failed to diagnose or treat the problem I went in to have looked at and referred me to a general practitioner upon going to the general practitioner I was referred to Oregon eye specialists who immediately diagnosed my condition. I have very good insurance that completely covered Oregon eye specialists and the general practitioner. However sunset eye clinic is billing me for 300 dollars after insurance for about an hour of their time and a battery of uncomfortable tests that were completely unnecessary. The optometrist here is not trustworthy and overpriced do yourself a favor an take your business elsewhere.

This one issue aside, Ive been really happy with this place. Theyve always done a great job for me and are very nice. I give this office 4 stars only because they wont be bothered to bill my second insurance (24, divorced parents. so yes I have 2 insurances). And then want me to pay 150$ for an eye exam for "floaters" after insurance. Which I also felt was pretty pricey. Not sure if this is a special exam or not because it is a little bit different than the exams for my contacts. But anyways, it is really lame that they simply cannot be bothered to send a fax and make a phone call.

My 1st experience with Sunset Eye Clinic was great! Upon scheduling an appointment they were kind enough to go over what my coverage was and what i would be looking to pay out of pocket, environment was professional and family oriented. They went above and beyond to make me feel right at home! Receptionist, opticians and Doctors were all very friendly and informative, on top of that, they have a great selection on frames with reasonable pricing...I would most definitely recommend having your eye exam done there!

I just picked out the best pair of Rayban sunglasses from Sunset Eye Clinic- AND I was able to bill part of it to my insurance!!!!! A huge thank you to Jenn, in the optical department, who helped me pick them out. She was really fun to work with and spent a lot of time helping me- she took time to explain all my options (I was really indecisive) and fees. Amazing customer service & frame choices!! I saw Dr. Lee for my eye examination- he was great!

I am very pleased with the professional atmosphere and knowledge of the doctors in this clinic. Due to the immediate need of seeing a doctor the office manager scheduled me for an appointment for an hour after I called in. Thank you sunset Eye clinic for your compassion and knowledge. I was able to return to work that day after having metal removed from my eye. Dr Lee cares and it shows!!!!

Had a wonderful experience in this office. The staff was very friendly and helpful. After my exam, Taylor helped me select a frame and pick out the best lens options for my prescription. They billed my insurance for me and made the whole process simple and easy. I get compliments on my glasses all the time. Thank you Sunset!

Never get your glasses done from this place. When I did my eye exam, they promised the glasses in 5-7 business days. Now its 10 days since I placed the order. Now they are saying they never promised 5-7 business days and it takes 10-14 business days. Not sure when Ill get my glasses.
