I am writing today to express grave concern about malpractice. I am a 42 year old male with a seizure disorder and some mental health issues that revolve around anxiety.I was on vacation in the bay area of california well away from my home up in Lane countiy of oregon. during vacation I had run out of medications to treat my symptoms.I decided to travel north across the border to seek refills and treatment at the nearest hospital. this is not the first time I required emergency services out of regular county. I checked in late night around 9pm and was attended to shortly by Dr. Peipmeier.during the 20 odd minuets that I was seen, most of it was sitting and waiting.the docor then returned to consult me about my conditions and needs.first off he left the office door wide open to the adjasent ER room where the other patients could clearly hear the entire conversation, absolutely no privacy.second he went on to state that refills of my medications are not possible as they do not refill those type of medications. (the doctors at the last hospital had just a few months before) when I stated that fact he was quik to blatently lie to me by stating that OHP has recently restructured protocall in the ER and that the previous doctors I had mentioned to him are now without jobs and I will not be able to obtain any medications at any other facility.this is not true since I spoke with a few of them today while gathering my medical records. He then quickly escored me out while making statement that if I need to obtain treatment that I should return while in full withdrawl of the medications perscribed. that is very low, considering that benzodiazapine withdrawl is very nasty and the risk of seizure is more likely than already being epileptic without meds. I am not stating anything bad about the other staff or facillity , they seemed nice and the buildg was very clean. But I do however shame the hospital for allowing a person to practice medicine there on a part time basis who is insensitive , lying, rude and a liability that might cause more harm to an individual than good.I am only rating one star since I had a very unpleasant experience.

This is the most horrible place to work in healthcare, the most lethal place to be seen as a patient. Most of the staff is interim or contract workers who have no interest in the future of Curry nor its people or patients. The new CEO is terrible and new and it shows! She has financially ruined the place and continues to withhold pay raises to funnel money into a new hospital that the construction company is suing her for! She got a bonus from the inept Board of Directors after she froze all pay raises, canceled PTO pay out, lowered PTO maximums, canceled matching retirement funds, increased benefit costs and has laid off over 30 workers and the hospital is still in financial ruin. I wonder how she will staff the new hospital after she has canned most of the workers? Curry will always do more harm than good, if you can make it, drive north to Coos Bay where a real hospital is. If you are considering Curry Hospital, Curry Family Practice or Curry Medical Center as a possible employer... run away as fast as you can! This place will swallow your career and s**t it out. Beware also that they are changing their name because of the horrible reputation they currently have, but they are and will be the same failed place with the same failed leader. If you are traveling to the northwest coast and if you might be in Gold Beach you should put a note in your wallet for paramedics to NOT take you to Curry Hospital, you may never leave alive, you will certainly leave worse.

Horrible place, they are jaded and treat people with distain, if you work there, be prepared to deal with an exorbitant amount of unprofessionalism. The manager is vindictive and petty and takes her problems out on staff. If you have the wherewithal to say that behaviour is petty and vindictive, because she changed your schedule 3 times in less than 2 weeks, and from 3 nights in a row to every other night unnecessarily, to punish you because they didnt get their ER in Brookings open, your considered insubordinate. Even though your not. Youve been warned.

Jason hayes was my dr for about 4 month in which i was in pain the whole time. the last 2 visit we got into a agruement because i didnt feel like i was getting the correct care for what i need. my father is dieing and he could care less. i cant sleep at night so he prescribes me a antisicotic. hes a disrepectfull excuse for a dr. i would take utterback over him any day. if they would get real DRs in there not nurse practioners they might be able to take for their pateints. as of now im leaving curry heath and findinmg health care somewhere else

I would like to take this opportunity to say that the emergency room gets the job done but what they dont tell you is the doctors the emergency room hires do not have contracts with insurance companies so patients have to pay the exhorbident fees they charge and are about 2 times the normal charges for the same service. Buyer beware. Hospital agrees to normal local fees but their doctors are out of their mind.

Daughter had emergency c-section there and hospital surgeon and midwife worked hand in hand to make the decision and save the baby. VERY DEDICATED STAFF! Yes, the facility needed updating, but the care was excellent and they had all the right monitors and equipment to take care of my daughter and her son. Can not say enough for Dr. Fitz and all!
