I had a very poor experience with Dr. Cook about four years ago. I have many atypical moles (larger than a pencil eraser, multi-colored, etc), and have been told by multiple primary care docs that I should regularly get them screened by a dermatologist. I went to Dr. Cooks office, and he did an extremely brief mole check, missing several of my largest moles because he didnt check my whole body, and completely dismissing any concerns I had. When he biopsied one, he did a terrible job sewing up after the surgery and I still have a keloid scar with raised areas corresponding to each of the six stitches as well as the incision. He and his office staff seemed nice/friendly enough, and it was definitely a disappointment to get such poor care. I would recommend visiting a different dermatologist. I know Id never go back to Dr. Cook.

I went in for an office visit. I knew my copay would be $20. After the visit, I paid my twenty and left. Then I got a bill in the mail for an additional $200. Turns out, during the course of my visit, Id inadvertently allowed Dr. Cook to perform a procedure that he billed separately for. I called his office to negotiate. They offered me a payment plan or collections. I asked to come in to meet with Dr. Cook about it in person. Their response: "Dr. Cook is not amicable to that." So Im left with a bill ten times what I expected for a procedure I never would have consented to if Id it would be billed separately, and the doctor wont even discuss it with me. Dont see this doctor. And if you do, be sure to ask before he does even the most trivial thing in your visit to be sure you wont be billed heavily for it later.

I wanted a dermatologist that treats actual skin issues; skin cancer, acne, rashes, etc. Not one that is all about vanity treatments, like botox and dermabrasion. Dr Cook is a down to earth doc who shoots straight. His staff is mostly helpful, with the exception of one of his front desk women. Shes kind of a sourpuss.

I thought the staff was nice, the process was quick and hopefully hes prescribed me what I need to get better! Glad I stopped in today :)
