Every single time I went into his office, I was on time for my appointment and waited in the lobby a minimum of 30 minutes, as much as an hour, for him to come out. One time he even left on vacation to another state the night before and did not cancel my appointment, I came in and waited in the lobby for 45 minutes before I was told he was NOT IN THE STATE. Most importantly, he prescribed a medication that was an off-label use, failed to stop me taking it months and months beyond its recommended time of use (supposed to be used for a couple months at most, he had me on it for about 8 months) and I succumbed to a bizarre autoimmune disorder that had me on disability for months, I was in massive pain and had limited movement, could not stand for extended periods of time or walk more than a few hundred yards at a time, suffered gastrointestinal bleeding and required an emergency room visit, etc. When reviewing the drugs postclinical trial information, that strange disorder was listed as one of the reported affects of the drug. When I told him about this information, he called the pharmaceutical rep for the company that makes the drug and proceeded to have a jovial, superficial phone conversation where none of my concerns were addressed and I was told there was nothing he could do. I wouldnt trust Dr. Saal as far as I can throw him. His office is poorly run and hes clearly in the pockets of pharmaceutical companies, to the detriment of his patients.

Let me just say one word. Dont even think about trying this place; the customer service is just terrible...horrible. They have two of the worst assistants i have ever seen. Patients are supposed to be cared for. these people though look down on you, making you feel miserable...i dont know who hired these people. It was my mistake though; i didnt read the reviews and now i go back and i undersand why he got 2 starts. I am the one who is spending dollar and im asking her a question and she is closing the door on me while im talking! WHAT IS GOING ON? timing: expect to wait there AT LEAST 90 min when you get to office (45min in the reception and 45 min inside before doctor visit you).

I have been to many dermatologists in my day but Dr. Saal is the only one still practicing that I trust. Dr. Saal encouraged me when Kaiser Hospital dermatologists didnt even recognize my pre-cancerous condition. I may need to wait sometimes in the waiting room or the exam room but that is only because he is very thorough and makes sure that he has completely addressed my issues. I have found Dr. Saal to be extremely professional yet kind and caring. He is thorough and proficient. Five other family members and I have been going to Dr. Saal for over 25 years now and would recommend him to anyone. I DARE you to find someone better!

I have been a patient of Dr. Saals for many years. The staff is always very pleasant and helpful as I ask a lot of questions. Ive been to see Dr. Saal recently and was pleased that I was seen in a timely manner and that he took the time to sit with me while listening about my skin issues.
