Ive now had 3 sessions with Dr. Kassam and I feel like everyone needs to know how amazing she is! I feel more healthy, vibrant, and empowered around my health in a new way because of our work together. For me, I am seeing Dr. Kassam to feel as healthy and whole as possible, not to address any particularly serious health concerns. She is a great fit for me - she sees health as a complicated system that isnt just physical - its clearly mental and emotional, too. Dr. Kassam has taken so much time to talk with me, listen to my concerns, and address them with incredible knowledge. Not only does she have incredible care and presence when we meet, she is such a treasure trove of information. I was amazed how she was able to understand my health concerns so clearly and give concise, clear input for my improvement. We did some blood work and then took time to discuss a number of things - I left feeling like I had just received many years worth of information from that meeting! So many things to think about, but Dr. Kassam was able to help me prioritize our action steps. She was very sensitive to me not feeling overwhelmed while also addressing the things that were important. Additionally, I think Im someone who generally has a distrust of those in the medical community. I feel like doctors are often interested in treating symptoms than addressing the root causes. Ive had too many experiences when the appointment felt rushed and I was just handed a prescription without a lot of thought. Working with Dr. Kassam has reinstated my trust in doctors. She has also been so generous to stay in touch with me between sessions via email and also give short phone check-ins as needed. Thats just the icing on the cake! A great doctor whos actually available when you need them...Awesome!

A couple of years ago, my primary care doctor diagnosed me with an autoimmune thyroid condition. I met with a specialist and was essentially told that the condition would worsen until I eventually would need hormone replacement therapy. I was told to lose weight and come back for annual bloodwork. This went on for two years with me feeling increasingly worse. I finally started questioning what I was being told and decided to seek another opinion. I started seeing Dr. Kassam in January. Dr. Kassam spent over an hour with me in our first meeting reviewing my medical history and really listening to what I had to say. She offered me practical strategies that immediately began to relieve my symptoms. She ordered a full blood panel and spent a significant amount of time explaining the results to me. She looked at my health as a whole and developed a treatment plan with me to address my health in phases with the most important aspects being prioritized. Dr. Kassam made the process feel easy and she never rushed me, pushed me to do anything I didn’t want to do, or failed to provide me with a reasonable explanation for any question I had. Dr. Kassam has always been respectful about the decisions I make regarding my health. She is aware of financial considerations when developing a treatment plan and doesn’t push expensive products. She plans to spend a good amount of time with me during appointments and is always available by phone or e-mail in between. Six months later, I can’t believe the progress I’ve made. I’ve lost a significant amount of weight, I have more energy, and I’m starting to feel like myself again. The changes in the lab results are amazing and make me feel a sense of hope and accomplishment. I couldn’t be happier with the treatment I’ve been receiving.

I have seen Dr. Kassam for several visits and feel compelled to share a bit of my experience. I went to Dr. Kassam for my general health. She asked very specific questions and narrowed in on my sleeping pattern. I’d lived with my insomnia for so long that it became normal to me. I wasn’t even going to bring it up because I just had accepted my waking up nightly for a couple of hours or more and hadn’t really thought of seeking treatment. I had tried sleeping pills in the past, but the side effects were worse than feeling tired all the time. Dr. Kassam attributed my sleeping disorder to anxiety and gave me a sample of four supplements to try out and told me if they did not work within the four days; they were not the correct supplement. They worked immediately, so now I take one pill at bedtime and sleep through the night – every night now! This has transformed my life and there have been no side effects. I also really appreciate the fact that Dr. Kassam is conservative about prescribing supplementation. I am sensitive to taking so many supplements and I get to the point that I can’t stand swallowing the pills. I’ve had other naturopathic physicians prescribe too many pills and it ends up being too expensive and you can’t even tell what’s really working or not. Dr. Kassam is working with me to narrow down my supplementation to make it simple and affordable. Dr. Kassam has cured me of an infection so I didn’t have to take antibiotics again, which was re-occurring and I was concerned it would become antibiotic resistant. The experience that I am having with Dr. Kassam has been the best experience I have ever had with any doctor.

If you are looking a partner in your health and well being Dr. Natasha Kassam is that person and 8 Hearts is the place. Dr. Kassam quickly puts you at ease and gives you confidence that you can be strong, healthy and happy. I am middle aged (whatever that is) and figured it was time to try something different. I am in good health and want to stay that way...naturally. Natruopathic medicine is new to me. I grew up with conventional medicine. I waited until I got sick and then I took whatever they gave me. Now that is just wrong! The way to do this is to find out what I need to be my best self and to that before I get sick and need to be "fixed". Dr. Kassam knows just what to do. She takes a full history and identifies any symptoms (even those you dont know you have like an achy stomach), does any necessary testing, and then she puts you on a "plan". Once she does that, she stays with you while you make the transition (which isnt that hard) and makes herself available to answer questions along the way. Yes, she calls you personally! Can you imagine that? Its also great to know she has a speciality in cardio health (just in case I ever need it). As if this were not enough, the clinic is beautiful and inviting. No long waits. No standing you up for the patient they worked in. btw..I was happy to learn that Dr. Kassam does have full access to prescription medicines and that she is willing to look at all options if they are needed. Wonder if my traditional doctor would have ever said that? Thanks Dr. K. Glad I found you!

After mainly seeing traditional doctors in the past, I felt like there was a large hole in my care. If they couldnt fix something with a prescription, I was on my own. They never seemed particularly interested in getting to the bottom of anything. I have also tried naturopaths before who seem to have a pre-determined, complicated wellness philosophy/regimen that they expect you to adhere to, and/or they suggest procedures that I see as questionable from a logical standpoint. After seeing Dr. Natasha and becoming familiar with her approach to health, I feel like the hole in my care has been filled. She is incredibly attentive and thorough which is a refreshing change from what I am used to. She looks at you as a whole person and takes into consideration all of the interconnected systems that can be effecting each other. As she identifies issues/problems, she responds in a constructive manner that takes your personal tastes/habits/routines into consideration. She makes dietary suggestions, but doesnt lecture you. She also has a logical approach that I find refreshing. I am really glad that I found Dr. Natasha, and I look forward to having her involved in my healthcare for years to come.
