I was apprehensive about finding a good opticians in Portland. Foster Vision is small but was exactly what I was hoping for. The staff at Foster VIsion are very helpful and very nice. They explained my insurance coverage well to me which I was very grateful for since I didnt understand it fully. The service was outstanding, very professional and very personal at the same time. When I was choosing glasses the staff were simply phenomenal! Dr. Kwon has a gift of choosing the glasses which looked best on me! The few that didnt look so hot on me she was very honest and humorous about "erm....not those ones!" lol. Anyway, I left with some glasses are super pleased with. Recommend! The glasses selection is not as big as say Vision Works, but the glasses they have are simply better! All their glasses are hand picked which they have for sale, which makes finding nice glasses so much easier! Dr. Kwon is awesome.

I would not recommend going here if you are on a time schedule or if you are getting fitted for contacts. There is only one eye doctor to care for all the patients including walk in appointments so be prepared to sit and wait for a long time. I was also very upset that after I spent money on my exam and for my contacts, my vision with the new contacts was still blurry. I went back in a couple days to explain this to the doc and brung my glasses prescription with me, and apparently the reading from my eye exam was different than my original glasses. I was told I had an astigmatism and that they didnt have contacts that would match my prescription and was told that a good idea would be to settle with the first pair of contacts given to me where I cant see! This obviously doesnt make sense to me and I definitely feel like Im not getting my monies worth. Extremely disappointed and still no contacts : /

Through my insurance, I looked up in network providers that were close to my home and Foster Vision came up so I scheduled an appointment. The overall experience was fine, nothing extraordinary. I recommend taking your prescription else where though, even at 30% off for frames and sunglasses, there are much better deals elsewhere. I was planning on doing this and I said as much when I got there. But once I was taken to the front, they assigned a staff member to help me and they dont make it easy for you to leave. Im sure their aware that they need to keep you since they are able to charge much more if you purchase your frames there. I did end up purchasing frames and sunglasses which I regretted terribly as I paid over four hundred dollars combined, and this is after insurance was applied. Dont get suckered into buying your frames there!!

Dr. Kwon saved my 12 year old Daughters life. We went in for a routine exam & glasses. She did a thorough exam & found an issue. She spent time explaining possible causes & sent a referral to a specialist. The specialist confirmed her findings & sent us directly to Emergency Room for MRI & spinal tap. She was scheduled for emergency brain surgery the next morning. Dr. Kwon checked in with us several times. Shes a Mother & cares about kids like they are her own. We are so grateful for her & her staff. I highly recommend her & this clinic. I purchased glasses for myself & my 2 Daughters they have a great selection. The location is conveniently located & clean. Scheduling was quick & easy. I can never say it enough times thank you Dr. Kwon.

The customer service was great and attentive however I was pressured into spending more money than Id intended. My insurance has never covered vision before so I didnt know how it worked, and I was constantly being told the lenses where free and not told about the price of the glasses until I pulled out my card. They also tried to convince me to have my pupils dilated when I was not planning to have a full exam and had nobody to drive me home.The people who work here are great and took good care of me, but I felt their number one concern was pressuring me to spend as much as possible, rather than keeping me truly informed about what I needed.

I appreciate everything the staff at Foster Vision did for me. It was my first time getting eye glasses, I had no idea how to even start. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel very comfortable, answered all of my questions and provided me with stellar care. They guided me through the whole process with ease. In a weeks time--my new glasses were ready ! I cant thank Foster Vision enough for the outstanding care and service they provided. I look forward to going to see them again. Ill recommend them to EVERYONE I know ! THANK YOU FOSTER VISION ! I can see all my SOCCER much clearer now ! RCTID !

I was waiting to get my prescription and was impressed when I watched the staff attempt to help some frustrated Chinese customers that could not speak enough English to state what they needed. The staff listened and went out of their way to call around to find them a translator. Though they did offer almost more choices than I could keep track of, I did get just the glass and frames I needed. I dont know why there are negative reviews, only reason I can think of was that whoever wrote them had the misfortune to not get Marielle to help them. Moral of the story? Shop here and ask for Marielle! Kelly

I discovered Foster Vision as a Premier provider with VSP. As an over 60+ female, they not only provided me the best eye exam I have ever had, but suggested an exam I have never had. So impressed their attention to my eye care! Dr Kwon and her staff is fabulous! I purchased 2 pair of glasses and returned today for contacts....I have a challenging prescription.....Dr Kwon hung in there with me until I was happy with the contacts. Im from Salt Lake and wish I could send customers to them.......consider me saying that Foster Vision is The Best in Portland......

After making several discouraging calls around Portland and getting rejected because of my specific individual vision coverage, I was referred by Wal-Mart to call Foster Vision. I spoke with Lindsay who was not only extremely polite and helpful but took the time to breakdown each charge from the appt. to the contacts and then provided detailed instructions for the rebates she was able to find for me. Dr. Kwon was very professional and extremely knowledgeable, all in all a great experience. I most definitely endorse Foster Vision!

This place really needs to work on their customer service. They are constantly trying to upsell the customer to purchase the most expensive options. They dont give clear price options, they often just give you one option or ask if you want something, but they never show you a list of prices and options that are available. Overall this felt as if they were being deceptive and purposely being evasive about price options. They are also extremely expensive and have much higher prices than other optometrists I have used before.

Wow! This is an experience. Dr. Kwon, is amazing. She explained a lot of different options to me for my contacts and made sure that I had a comfortable pair before I ordered them. She even gave me a couple sample boxes to try out for a few days. She asked all the right questions to make sure I was getting the correct prescription, comfort, practicality, and value. She even handled a problem created by my insurance company. This is an example of how both eye care and customer service should be intertwined.
