I came here because of the great reviews, but after my experience here I have to share, because this was not great. Just be warned, I recently moved to the NE and thought I would try a new doctor, I now regret when comparing to the services I have received in the past. First of all, be warned if you buy glasses from them they are USED (They sell the DEMO Frames that everyone tries on). I am sorry this is not okay with me. They did not tell me this, I find the practice misleading and quite frankly wrong. Especially given the fact the staff does not tell you. Okay, so i got used frames for over $600.00. FYI, this is NOT a common practice (did my research after this experience) to sell the DEMO glasses, especially trying to pass them off as new. The doctor conducted a Dilation-free retinal exam, only after telling me it would cost an extra $35, and if I did not want to pay it they would dilate my eyes. This was after they took the pictures of my eyes, I guess they thought I would not know any better. She said it with such disdain. Quite frankly I felt violated and ripped off. The appointment was rushed, there was an observer in the room during my appointment, and this person was not introduced to me, simply sat there and stared uncomfortably. The doctor was clearly trying to push me out of the office ASAP. She sped through my questions not really paying attention to what I was asking. I SHOWED UP 20 MINUTES EARLY, so I did not have to feel rushed and figured I could peruse the frames. Then the communication; the technician said they would call me to check before they ordered my contacts. Okay, but I had to call them three times, and ended up having to come to the office three separate times as well. They never called me as they said. Even if I did not spend almost 1K, I would have expected better service. Truly a disappointed customer. I will not be back, good luck to you all though. EDIT: I noticed a response from one of the employees while I was writing another review. I marked the used frames to determine if I would actually receive a new pair, I used a black sharpie, very thin line almost not visible. Anyway the ultimate reason I wrote this review was the fact that I never received those "New" frames that were promised. I have purchased no less than five pair of glasses since I have last visited this location, no longer a customer here.

My fiance and I just moved to Vancouver WA. I have not had new glasses for years, and after reading reviews decided to look at Alberta Eye Care. I am SO glad I did! I couldnt find my written prescription, but the gentleman at the front desk was able to look up and contact my previous doctor and had the prescription in hand before I was even partly through browsing. They also looked up my insurance benefits with the same ease and efficiency (and billed my insurance, which they did not need to as they were not a preferred provider in my network). Katie was AMAZING! She was friendly and gave me just the right amount of help with my glasses search. She pointed out very helpful things about the fames and how they fit on me. They had to order my lenses but they came in very quickly. When I came in to pick them up Katie was again very helpful and knowledgeable about adjusting both my new and old frames to fit my face perfectly. She also encouraged me to come back in as many times as I needed to achieve the best and most comfortable fit. She knows her stuff! This has been the best eye care experience I have ever had! Thank you!

After finally accepting that my old single-vision lenses were no longer sufficient, I visited Alberta Eye Care for some new glasses. Like many of you, Id heard that progressive lenses were expensive and could be a tricky transition from single vision lenses. Dr. Laura Armstrong reassured me right away that I was making the right choice. She is kind, knowledgeable, and helped me accept my degenerating eyesight with a bit of humor. Given the excellent quality of the lenses, I had no difficulty getting used to them and found it such a relief to be able to see clearly, whether on my laptop or looking for a street while driving! Finally Kelsey, the lens-maven :) took one look at my face, selected 4 frames for me to try, and the very first pair she handed to me were the *perfect* choice. I could never had narrowed it down that quickly on my own. She is a true artist! I love my glasses, get TONS of compliments on them (be sure to get the anti-reflective lenses--everyone tells me it looks like there are no lenses in my glasses, and I never see a glare), and couldnt be more pleased.

I woke up on a Saturday morning with a swollen eye and a fairly large scratch present after removing my contacts. My normal eye doctor wasn’t open so I called Alberta Eye Care. They were booked up for the day but Dr. Armstrong was able to see me as she suggested it could be an emergency. It turned out that I had a corneal ulcer that could have progressed if I had waited until Monday to see my normal physician. Dr. A helped lead me to a speedy recovery and she even emailed me that evening to make sure things had not gotten worse. Since then, I’ve had a follow-up visit and an eye exam to renew my prescription. I didn’t have to wait long at all to see the doctor (I was actually seen early both times) and the staff here is amazing. This place is awesome. I’ll never see a different eye doctor again!

Horrible service- I called for a follow up as I had seen them two days before for a fitting and prescription - I was removing my contact lenses and caused scratches. They told me I needed to pay out of pocket and wouldnt take me in unless I paid. I was having a medical emergency and Alberta didnt care. If you are looking for an optomoterist in NE dont go here, go to Optik PDX. They took me in and helped after Alberta almost destroyed my eyes with the wrong prescription. I am now taking antibiotics.

Doctor Laura Armstrong explained everything and took her time to explain everything step by step. It was very interesting to see pictures of the inside of my eyes. Picking out a new frame was not easy because there are so many beautiful Frames to choose from. I highly recommend Doctor Laura Armstrong if you need an eye exam.

Dr Armstrong is fantastic. The service here is great; I once needed a copy of my prescription for a form and she sent it within 5 minutes over email. I no longer live near here but continue to come here for my optometry services.

Absolutely top notch service, medical awareness, sensitivity to my schedule, availability of unique and quality frames, and even provided tea while I searched for frames. Wish all of my medical experiences were this fantastic!

Got a same day appointment when I called to inquire...super friendly staff and doctor. Learned a bit about my eyes/vision that I hadnt known before. Loved that they were NOT at all pushy about buying glasses/contacts.
