This review has nothing to do with the independent optometrists at Costco, who are better than average. No, this review just deals with Costco Optical. I am extremely disappointed at the slow, incompetent, unprofessional and overall abysmal service. Twice they made mistakes on my glasses, each time requiring them to completely redo the order. The first time they made sunglasses when I ordered transitions. Apparently the ordering codes are similar (advice: change the codes so they’re not similar!). The second time the left lens was made incorrectly. But what sealed the deal for this one-star review was when I needed to make a small change to the Rx. Four times over the course of nine days I stood waiting for someone to offer timely customer service, and four times I left before anyone offered anything. It’s not like I waited 5 minutes and gave up — I waited up to 30 minutes and the optical department was so poorly staffed I was still a long ways from being seen before I left. That is completely unacceptable to Costco standards. I’m asking for a full refund and I’ll never go back to Costco Optical.

Shelley in the Optical Dept. at the Salem Costco is wonderful! We have gone to this Costco several times over the past 3 years and have been fortunate enough to get Shelley. We have purchased 6 pair of glasses and have been happy with the service and price. Going to see one of their optometrist this fall because of Shelleys outstanding work. Thanks, Costco, for making good vision affordable.

People that work here are amazing, nothing against them. But dont order contacts through them! Worst experience of my life!! The way its set up is so frustrating! I had to switch to a different clinic and even that was a hassle to have done through Costco!

wow, great customer service, frame broke after 14 months, went in and they swapped it out with a new frame in less than 2 minutes. Great job!!!
