I wish I could give this hospital zero stars. I took my 2 year old into the walk-in clinic, upon recommendation from the front desk, for a possible broken leg. We waited 30 minutes in the lobby, then another 30 minutes in the room until finally the doctor came in. After 2 minutes we were sent then to x-ray and waited another 30 minutes. They proceeded to grab his broken leg where it was fractured, turn him and his leg, all while my child was screaming in pain and now frantic because he was terrified of being hurt by the doctor again. Once we were finally back in the room, we waited over 45 minutes for the doctor to come in and tell us he had broken his leg but they couldnt splint it and then threw an unfamiliar disease into the mix with an already frazzled mother. Not once did they say they had to send x-rays to another hospital to be read for a broken bone until my mother finally asked after being at the hospital with minimal news for over 3 hours at this point! I had to ask for tylenol for my child after 4 hours, and finally asked for the x-rays to be placed on a disk so I could take my child elsewhere to be treated. There were so many things wrong with this visit: They wanted my child to be weighed and measured by STANDING on his broken leg. They wiggled his leg while he was screaming not to touch it. They told me he had Rickets disease and thats why he broke his leg, and then walked out of the room (which he does not have--saw a specialist in Portland and they told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with his bones in formation or density). They told me he broke his FIBIA when in actuality he broke his TIBIA. Very different. They sent me for 8 x-rays of both legs--unnecessary exposure to radiation! This only names a few of the problems I had while seeking help for my 2 year old! Word of advice, GO TO PORTLAND and see someone at Randalls Childrens Hospital (Emmanuel) where they actually know what they are talking about with broken bones, dont terrify a mother with an unknown disease, expose you and your child to unneeded tests and radiation, and actually get your child treated in a timely manner!

Ive given "4" stars because I merely went in for a consultation of my nasal passages. Had my appointment involved more troublesome issues, perhaps I myself, or the staff may have behaved less well. I dont know. But I liked what I experienced there. Im pretty talkative, and creative when it comes to speculating about my possible health problems! I also have a long connection with medical practice from working in hospitals, to nuclear family members who were medical professionals. This means that when I am telling my Dr. about my condition, I know some important symptoms may just seem "natural" to me. So when my ENT Dr. at Providence examines me and asks me to tell him my symptoms, look out! I went on and on. Not only did he listen, but he responded in ways that were reassuring, but still, not void of real potential problems either. He also took a little time to speak of other issues that were fun, but useful for me to hear. I felt very comfortable with this "new" Doctor. After my exam, I made a follow up appointment, and even went to the cafeteria for lunch. EVERY staff member I spoke with was very "human" in ways always consistent with the medical environment we were in. Besides my Dr. and his assistant, this included: a hospital chaplain, desk clerks, cafeteria staff, and a housekeeping staff member I met over lunch. I have worked in hospitals for over 20 years, and am now retired. This staff was consistently as professional and as kind as any I have known when I was either a patient, and/or a hospital employee. I feel very good about pursuing my medical treatments with them soon.

If I could give no stars I would. We are traveling and I needed help with a fever and a general feeling of malaise. My provider "Dr. Katherine" was not very kind overall. She seemed annoyed. Told me I should drink 3 liters of water per day, a 101 temp was not a big deal and lastly she would not give antibiotics for a "possible" sinus infection. She said it sounded like allergies to her. We all know our own bodies pretty well and I know when Im SICK. I also find it very difficult to have confidence in a provider who is over 100 pounds overweight. As shes asking me to breathe deeply to listen to my lungs, I can hear her breathing like she can barely catch her breath standing up. I have never had such a terrible experience at the doctor. I shouldve listened to the previous reviews... UPDATE: One day later. Im in Portland now and my fever made a come back so I walked myself in to a lovely urgent care in Northwest Portland. The doctor spoke with me for a long time. He was kind, considerate, compassionate, and pleasant. Then he diagnosed me with influenza B after a swab! What do you know? I wasnt imagining my symptoms or illness. Now I know whats going on and how to proceed. Thank goodness for persistence and competent providers.

I love everything about Oregon and Seaside...but this place was ridiculous. The lady checking us in was very pleasant and kind. We arrived at 6:30--they close at 7. We got checked in then a nurse came out and asked why we were there. Told her my son had a 102 fever and sore throat, fatigue etc. I wanted a strep screen. She told me they walk out the door and leave when they close at 7. I told her it was just 6:30. She told me we were welcome to come back in the morning but he would not be seen. I explained that we were on vacation and that all i needed was a strep screen...she refused to see him. Told me to have him gargle with salt water... Come to find out--HE DID HAVE STREP THROAT!!! Honestly, i wouldnt have gone back in the morning and i wouldnt go back ever... Close your doors at 6:30 if you arent going to see people past that time. Negligence...

When in two days in a row because my one year old was sick and refusing to eat or drink for days. The advice given was get her to drink something. We were reapeatedly told she just had an ear infection. They ignored the fact that I repeatedly told them she had a rash all over her body and told me she was fine. We took her to urgent care in Astoria and she didnt have an ear infection at all ahe had another virus that was causing sores in her mouth. My husband has seen Susan Berry in the walk in clinic and she was extremely rude and not helpful. Go to Astoria and save yourself the time and frustration.
